Anyone plan on playing it?

I try to test out most MMOs for at least a week or so but I have read almost nothing on this game. I -think- it is a lobby/instanced type world but I may have miss-read that somewhere.

I played a beta weekend and I wont be getting it. It was interesting but you pretty much need a group to do any of the quests and my laptop couldnt display the ground very well. Also a couple gameplay funstion I didnt like very well either (namely how you control a attack)

I'm still interested in trying...but I'd hope to have a couple guys try it with me. In the beta preview I found that it's kind of awkward getting a group together, and you really need a group even at the beginning. I do like the "Dungeon Master" narrator voice-overs though, very cool.

Ill be checking this out tonight. I downloaded the prerelease client last night. I plan on getting on one of the two "unofficial RP servers"

Sarlona

Thelanis

Probably Thelanis first.

I read an article in the Game Stop magazine, whatever that's called (Gameforcer maybe?) Whatever... anyway...

Basically they were saying this game is not going to be for everybody, and it will mostly appeal to those who were REALLY into the pen and paper game. That's a lot of people, but certainly not enough to rely on for big profits such as the kind WoW or EQ has.

I agree. It truely is a niche game.

But I like Turbine, and I'm really waiting for LOTRO to come out, so this gives me something to explore by Turbine in the meantime.

I have a Dwarven Warrior named "Thorinfire Bronzehammer" on Sarlona.

Picked it up last night.
Its about the most detailed character creation I've ever seen. You can even get into multiclassing across up to 3 classes.
Artwork and UI overall is ok. The feel of the dungeons is done well.
I'll see how well it goes when grouping.

BTW:
Drislian Eytheratear - Elven Ranger
Thelanis (unofficial) RP server

nice article. Between WoW and BF2 I have zero gaming time as it is but if I had the time I would at least try it out.
