So I have a 420 watt PSU, but the requirements for the ATI X1950PRO AGP card due out the end of november "requires" 450 assuming my system is fully loaded.

If i ran the card on the 420 PSU would i have any issues?

What determines fully loaded?

If they recommend a 450, I would say go with a 450 ;).

You probably wouldn't have issues as they tend to overstate to get that near 100% up status, but you'd be a fool to go against their recommendation and they wouldn't be liable for any problems.

Pretty cool and easy to use tool to calculate your PSU requirements.

Based on what it's telling me I should be fine with my existing PSU.

However, this will definitely be the last upgrade with this comp. Given that I essentially only use Office, play EVE, etc I should be fine for another few years and even be able to handle an upgrade to Vista eventually.

I'd be interested to know what others think regarding the accuracy of this tool.

Interesting app... not sure on the accuracy... it didn't have my Gigabyte liquid cooling system in the list.... but still pretty cool. It gave me 360 watt rating, but i have a 450 watt power supply, so its all good :)
