Has anyone been following this game? I just got invited to the stress test (yeah, come log on when we promise everything will be broken!)... I might check it out, but I hopelessly addicted to WoW and the Burning Crusade, so I am sure it will be a pretty quick peek.

We had a long discussion about it recently.

http://www.avian-gamers.net/forums/view ... hp?t=16614

Sadly, I don't think you'll find many of us there. Which is a shame because it has/had potential. I even had several beers during one session to give it the true gaming test and even then it didn't tickle me. Which is also sad because I find those annoying "Sell This House" and other TLC home shows entertaining after than many beers.

Ahh... I should look before I post : )

After reading everyone's thoughts there, I am prolly not missing much... I downloaded the client, maybe if I get some free time this weekend I will check it out (who am I kidding, all of my free time is in WoW these days!)

If you are addicted to WoW, I dont think you will find much to drag you away. I found it to be WoW lite in a Middle Earth setting. The only improvement was 2nd generation vice 1st generation graphics.

Thats all just MHO :)

I downloaded the client and am going to try it out one of these days. Just to see it for myself.

I would try it...except when I registered for the beta, it was with my yahoo email...which has since been hijacked, abused, and banned....

I promise, it wasn't me.

So, I have little clue as to if I have an invite on not.

I tried to check it out but I spent 3 days trying to get the thing to work and then gave up... that did not leave a good taste in my mouth...

Well, I'm flying my "eat crow" flag... I bought it over the weekend to try it out again due to mmo withdrawl. They've improved a lot since the beta days and I'm actually really enjoying the game now.

The quests so far have been pretty standard, but with a small group you can hammer them out and explore the world which is pretty detailed.

The thing that has me hooked is what they call "monster play" which allows you to play a level 50 monster once you hit level 10. You can have up to 5 level 50 monsters (the orcs, trolls, spiders, and wargs). In MP it's all PvP all the time. Lvl 40+ players have to quest or just come in for fun into the zone to do quests, but encounter player controlled monsters aching to kill them. Lots of fun getting in raid group to hunt the humans, elves, and dwarves. It's massively fun I find. So, yeah... complete 180 for me. lol

I am a sucker for new MMO's. Hell I even played Auto Assault for a few days. I'm not looking for a new MMO but I do rather enjoy playing new ones, if only to just poke around a bit.

Forza comes out tomorrow for XBOX and I have a pretty busy weekend but maybe next week I'll give this a go.

I just got a buddy key and a 10 day trial from a coworker. I'll load it up tonight and have a go.

While I do not have any great hopes for the game I do still enjoy playing new MMOs, if only for a few days.
