what can i say. i went to see it earlier today and it was a typical mike bay film, but I still liked it overall. some parts were just terrible and forced but overall a good summer popcorn flick with an above average story. i would def check it out, even if you never watched the cartoon.

Go see it. Now.

Seriously... get off your butt and go see it.

Best Bay film yet. And I like Bay.

It does everything right.

Don't think it's out over here yet, but I definitely plan to see it when it does.

Yeah, even if you never watched Transformers before you should go see it! Definitely did not disappoint.

I'm just concerned because "The Island" was such an awful movie by my standards. I don't want Transformers ruined for me if it is anything like the island. So for those who have seen both films. Are they similar in the worse ways possible? Or are they similar in the best ways possible?

to address your question turtle, I can see elements in screen writing and directing (camera movements, lighting and framing) that are in both films, after all Bay isn't going to redefine how he does things for this blockbuster. I'm not sure how I can explain this without being a spoiler, but i'll try. the action sequences having corny dialog that are there to, i guess, break the tension but it just comes off forced. I don't want to give any examples, cause I don't want to ruin some thing for someone. Anyway, just go see it, its def worth your time and money.

Yeah... a person should always expect great writing, dialog and acting from a script based on a saturday morning cartoon show.

The action was the best part of the movie with a lot of good interaction between the Bots and the people.

And there's no comparison between the Island and Transformers. I liked them both, but Transformers was the winner.

Took my kids to see it today, good movie, good fun. Not an oscar type script, but good action movie and spectacular special effects. Although the script seemed more mature and catered to adults more than kids. In fact some of the sexual topic dialog seemed inappropriate for children. My guess was the targeted audience was adults, because many of us remember the transformers on t.v lol

I was dreading having to go see this one but Bill has been looking forward to it for a while so I stuck a smile on and pretended to be excited. I remember transformers--- but only a bit from my male cousins playing with them when we were kids.. I certainly never watched the show either.

Also, I was also sunburnt from our day at the beach and had 3 guys at least 6'4+ sitting in front of me (I am short!) along with a baby and a Mom who kept getting up to leave everytime the baby would cry.....

I really liked it, great movie! Lots-O-fun Go see it!!!!!

Now, if I can say that.. anyone will like it!

Oh and Shia LaBeouf was really funny, made the movie imo.. cute kid with a bright Hollywood future!

I read reviews of the game and every one of them concluded that the game is not good. What can you expect from a movie-based game, I supposed.

Definitely go see the movie. I have not heard anyone not liking the film yet.

Darcy: How can you NOT have looked foward to the movie? What is wrong with you?! j/k ;) I heard that some of my sister's friends said it was too much of a "guy's" movie. I don't think it is though.

Hehe.. I was into Barbies.. sorry!

I would say it's a total guy movie though! Transformers! Too hot girl who does NOT look like a jr. in high school.. lots of close ups of her body ect, ect

However, I still thought it was good! Certainly not TOO much of a guy movie for a girl to enjoy. Really entertaining for a summer flick! :D

I had told Bill, on the way to the movies, that since I was going to see Transformers that he had to come see Evening with me.. since it is a total chick flick! hehe Really though, I have no clue what that movie is supposed to be about and don't care either.. it was just fun to see the look on his face when I mentioned it! lol

Wow...saw it last night and I agree with all the positive comments above! Very entertaining, amazing CG, LeBeouf and his parents were hilarious and overall, it was just a blast to watch. While it'll definitely be a DVD purchase for me, if you have any interest in this movie, I strongly suggest you go see it on the big-screen.
