In the Zhan trilogy (I think) Solo is playing Sabaac and gets in trouble because he is accused of using an illegal card. This card is able to change its face value in order to win.

That kind of cark had a name, or there was a phrase that identifies cheating cards like that.

Do any of you know the Name or phrase they used to identify cards like that? I am thinking “Skif” but I am not sure.

Damn.. beat me to it Cet. Yes it is a Skifter. And it's spell Sabaac. Not Saboc.

However, you should know that there are some sabaac variations that incorporate a skifter into the rules. There are bogus skifters known to exist that give the cheater owning it the ability to shift to any certain card he chooses. That's where the cheating comes in.

I want to get a Personal ID Transponder made out of this component:



In the items name I want to identify that it is sliced, or can change like a Skifter. So before I order the production of the ID transponder, I want to nail down the name. I had been brainstorming for all possible options when I remembered the Zahn story.

I am still not sure how the card should be named, some ideas are:

Personal ID Transponder (Sliced)
Personal ID Transponder (Skifter)
Sliced Personal ID Transponder
(Sliced) Personal ID Transponder
(Skifter) Personal ID Transponder

The idea here is that to the authorities, the card looks legit, but I still want us players to understand and know that the card is special.

I believe they said Skifter not Skiffer...

I'd say the first one. Personal ID Transponder (Sliced). Since a skifter is generally strictly a Sabaac component.
