I had a really good experience at Harvey Norman today which is a first. The story as follows:
Just under two years ago I got a cordless mouse and keyboard (the logitech freedom thingo) for christmas. Just over a month ago the mouse started exploding batteries, even new ones.
I just got around to taking it to Harvey Norman today. When mum and I first got there we only had our receipt and the mouse (had the keyboard and transmitter in the car incase) and the guy took one look at it and said it was only under a 12 month warranty and we should go away.
Mum got angry so he said he'd go check. He went away for ages and came back and said there was no way to determine what our warranty was but that he had to assume it was 12 months.
Mum got even angrier and asked for his supervisor. The supervisor took our receipt, walked to a phone and rang the local Logitech representative guy.
It took like 2 minutes then he came over and said we were under a 2 month warranty and he would credit me the $240AU mum spent in the store originally.
I could have bought a game or something (not SWG

not released here yet have to order it) but since I was without the mouse and keyboard I gave back the set for the $240 and got a MX Duo and $20 bucks change in cash.
Have to say that its the best day I've had in a while since I've just spent the month sick and with a crook back.
I guess it shows it can't hurt to see someone higher up, or even take your mum along
Only been using it for a few hours but this cordless mouse seems heaps better and the fact its rechargable is a bonus. The other one was battery intensive and expensive.
Anyway just wanted to say there is still hope for computer shops! If only the staff were as proactive as their supervisors
