What an incredible night this turned out to be!
Before I go any further,
Congratulations to Rahn and Shyyrl, the new couple!
Now, on with the story: I had just finished fishing for the night and stopped in at the vendors in the PA Hall basement to pick up more bait and check on Aubai's resources. Surprising, at 1:00 in the morning, I discover three people there; Rho, Rahn and Shyyrl. Rho was on his way to Lok but I soon was talking to Rahn about Aeric's armor. Conversation revealed they were visiting Naboo and Avian in search of a house (1 medium, 1 small). In passing, Shyyrl asked if I knew where to get a wedding ring. I knew I had one in my safety deposit box and remembered seeing one on the Surplus vendor. I picked up the one from the vendor and gave it to them. Rahn knew exactly what to do.
They accompanied me into Keren where I retrieved the other ring and offered our hall as their wedding chapel. They were quite excited and happy about the idea and while they checked their luggage for appropriate clothes, I contacted the few Avians online at that hour. X'ero was the only one able to join us and I'm very glad he did!
Once the couple had prepared themselves and with X'ero providing music, the ceremony got underway.
Dearly hoping Rom would appear and do this thing right, I began the ceremony (hey, that DEFA DH title ought to be good for
something).
When posed the age-old question of "Do you..." Rahn responded with confidence.
Shyyrl expressed the tenderness and caring of her Twi'lek heart in her consent to the vows.
And finally, the moment they'd been waiting for...
Kalvin O'Conner, a friendly stranger, slipped in during the start of the ceremony and added his voice to the congratulations...and the party!
Another Avian showed up just in time for a dance and a drink or two.
It was a surprise of an evening but what a treat! I'm very glad to have been a part of it - many thanks to Rahn and Shyyrl for letting X'ero, Avian and me be a part of their ceremony! Best wishes to you both!
Who'd have thought it? Love blossoming in our basement showroom!
PS: They submitted a customer service ticket to get Shyyrl's last name changed to Rahn's. Does anyone know of a better way to do that?
