I really didn't want to post this but I will anyway.

1) Can I run SWG in a window and toggle back and forth to other programs? For example these boards? MSN? All three?

2)How?

I mean pretty much step by step.

3) Will doing so add to my lag?

I have a phone connection. 56k modem max speed I ever see is 45.2. Computer speed like 2.3G. I forget the RAM 528? something like that. Bought it a few months prior to game release.

More dumb questions will follow. Be prepared.

You don't even need windows mode to toggle back and forth (ALT + TAB), but yes you can (atleast on XP you can).

As far as LAG goes, I have enough RAM to cover 2-4 large programs running, but I iamgine it might cause some drag with only 528Meg RAM. Still it should function fine for smaller programs like explorer without a noticeable difference.

Just after you put in your password
Click the options tab on the bottom left
Goto the Graphics tab in there
The 1st box says Windowed mode

I think that will do it, I dont know about lag problems with that though.

It does slow things down if you run it windowed, like Royur explained. If you just alt-tab, you can switch back to your desktop. As long as you are pretty stationary and not in a really active place liek the middle of Theed, you can flip back and forth fairly quickly using the alt-tab combo. If you have a 2.3 GHz, and at least 512 MB RAM, it'll work fine. I do it with a 1.8GHz, and it is slow, but doable.

..And, of course, to switch between full-screen and windowed mode is the standard shortcut Alt-Enter.. :)

If the cursor disappears when you're alt-tabbing, uncheck Hardware Accelerated Mouse Pointer in the options..

Annoyed that you need to press alt to alt-tab, as alt changes that mouse mode thingy? Use the shortcut for the windows key (opening the start button), namely Ctrl-Esc.. :)

Happy gaming!

Or my favorite, re-map mouse toggle in SWG to your middle mouse button (wheel). Beddy, beddy handy, yes.
