Check this out....

http://www.mutablerealms.com/

The game is called "Wish." I refuse to get all hyped about a game again, but it DOES look sweet. And they're already accepting Beta applications.

Release is expected Q4 2004. I could live with a year of beta testing. ;)

did you read the part about not having multiple servers, but having everybody in the same world?

Yeah, read that, so it is a hugely crowded fancy EQ. hehehe....

That is a cool concept, but I have tired of the sword and sorcery thing I think, so I am turned off by it now.

But that is a cool idea.

Bah! Why do we always post about games that we can play instead of SWG, instead of games to play in addition to SWG? :)

Here's a _really_ addictive lunch-sized rpg-thingy, completely online, using flash: Battleon! (http://www.battleon.com/)
This is a really fun game! Start a character, go forth and whack monsters.
Temporary items/pets are lost the next time you enter the shop or log out. Purchased items stay with you the next time you log in.
After a few battles (and you've gotten some cash), enter the shop and buy some weapons/armour. I recommend Coin's Coin and Horse Rider Armour. ;)
Mind you, there are a lot of different attack types: dark, light, fire, earth etc. etc.. Switch armour/weapon accordingly.

It's free to play, but you can become a 'guardian' with a few more goodies by donating a one-time 12$ fee. The reason the guys are encouraging users to become guardians is that their internet bills have gone through the roof, as the game is becoming more and more popular.. 8)

It's fun to play during lunch, or if you need a five-minute break during a hard working day.. ;)

Cheers!

Iobike

How much will Wish cost? Will there be a monthly fee?

Yes, there will be a monthly fee. We haven't decided on the pricing yet, but don't expect Wish to be on the cheap side. We want to compete by offering the most immersive online experience possible, not by being the cheapest.

Hmm... I wonder if that is a good idea. I doubt any MMO today could be "that good" to ask for a lot of money monthy, not with so many others out there, but I guess time well tell..

Umm... newsflash Iobike....

SWG SUCKS ROYAL &$$!!!

:P :P

No, in all seriousness, I would definately like Avian to expand into a multi-game community, as I've stated before, with the Avian IRC chat as more or less a lobby for people to hang out and wait for somebody to pop in and say "Hey, who wants to play some ______ (insert favorite multiplayer game here)?" And yes, SWG could still be a supported game. for whatever reason. :P

In reference to what you're in denial about? Or about my ideas for expanding Avian? :P

Yes, I admit that I've been a bit let down by SWG.

I've played quite a bit of SW RPG - the good old d6 version, and was really looking forward to live in the SW universe.
But, despite my gripes, I am still playing SWG, and would probably have played it even if it was nothing but "Play Rock Paper Scissors with Chewie". Hmm - that would've been rather fun, actually, as you shouldn't win by much, or you'd be in big trouble.. ;)

But still, Battleon.com is a really fun game, I tend to play it in another window while traveling long distances in SWG.. ;) Try it!
