Hi guys,

It occured to me that I've been on this board for over 20 months now. This really was the first long-term community i've been involved in online. I don't count any of the MMORPGs since I rarely knew anyone there more than 6 months.

Is this everyone's longest participating community?

Is it also your first long-term online community? (I suppose a year or more would qualify)

I have certainly enjoyed your camaraderie over my time before, during, and post SWG!!

This was my first MMO and I found Avian probably within the same week I found SWG. I would definately consider this my primary Board. Between this is phpfreaks.com I am pretty full up on time.

Even if I ever leave SWG (/shivers at the thought) I would still be a member of Avian.

This was my first online community... and I doubt I could have ever started with a better one. I will be spoiled from here on out.

I hope to stay here even after SWG's servers are shut down. The friends here are to good to forget.

My first board was the Jedi Council forums hosted at TheForce.net. This was my second, and my main for a long time. Now I post a lot more frequently at Star Wars May Cost Me My Job, or The Slacker's Council. They are the same place. It started as a spinoff from the JC, and is its totally own thing now, only barely related to Star Wars anymore.

This is the only board I've post to, so it's the longest one too

I played ENB for a few months and belonged to Lightning Troopers at the time...

With our decision to branch out beyond SWG, I can't see myself going anywhere else. I like the mix of young and old folks plus there just doesn't seem to be all that much baggage (except for the turbulence of about 6-8 months ago).

It was my first. I tried a few others in order to fill my posting addiction when things slowed down here for a few weeks. But ultimately, there can be only one.

As dbakke said, now that we're beginning to move beyond SWG and into gaming as a whole, I'll be here when I'm 80.

I love Avian. The friends I've had here now for about a year and a half have been just as valuable to me (sometimes moreso) than my RL friends. I find myself at the dinner table with my wife, answering the familiar question, "Oh really? Who told you that?" It sounds awful strange sometimes to answer her, "ummm... I think it was Arindel that told me, or maybe it was Dragon Fire, or maybe Cyrus." She just shakes her head. It makes me smile.

I post on 2 other SWG inspired message boards, and they are sweltering crap holes compared to the friendlyness of this board..

This is my second online community. I spent 5-6 years with friends at www.thegoh.com in the game Ultima Online, now days there isnt much at that website because pretty much all of us left UO for other games.

I was on the D2forums (when I played D2) for about 2 years, ut Avian is my second active community and my first community with a specific agenda for gaming. The D2 was just provided and I worked my way in there as a knowledgeable resource about Sorcs and some of the other classes.

And I feel the same as many here. I hope the community keeps expanding and growing over time (and into other games).

I helped admin a site called "The Sword and Pistol" (medieval strategy games ) for around 2 years but Avian outweighs that experience greatly.

(Although I did get a free, signed copy of Stronghold: Crusader for beta testing that game...with personalized audio! Seriously, if you have SH: C start a new character called Rocklar or Roclar - don't recall which spelling I used back then. The game will welcome you with, "Greetings, Lord Rocklar!" Fun stuff - hehehe)

I have read through many online boards, but this is the first I've really partisipated in. SWG is my first, and will likely be my only, MMO.

I've been here for three years. I've seen the ups and downs of this community. Even when I do finish with SWG and MMOs, I will likely stay on just for the community and the people I know here.

I'm a member of Shredco, a general, all games type of clan. Been with them for a couple of years before I joined Avian. However, right now I'm not even playing any games. Us in Shredco play all types of games, but, not very much role playing games. More general, all other games ... like Quake, CS, PlanetSide .. and all others. The forums are not active at all, but, IRC is VERY active at all times of the day.
