I don't quite understand what "source" is... First Condition Zero, now this... I just keep playing good ol' CS.

Best I can tell, CS:Source is kinda like CS2 and is shipping with HL2.

CS: Condition Zero was the purchased, stand-alone client.

I think source is like a "remake" of CS but on the upgraded engine.

So how does "upgraded" translate? To "runs faster on your computer" or "you need a new computer to be able to run it"?


I suspect the latter.

Well, since the Aztec (name of the map) we see in the movie looks muuuuch nicer than the Aztec I know and have played, I'd have to say I agree with you on your suspicions, Matija.

Anyone else notice how the water really looked rusty/muddy? The splashes from bullets? Obviously, this engine is very powerful. Methinks I'll buy HL2 and DL Doom3. :D

CounterStrike 2 is the MULTIPLAYER mode for Halflife 2. Enjoy! :)

Trust me, you won't need a super powerful computer to play Halflife 2 like you'll need for Doom 3. :D

And Doom 3 is pretty much a single layer game. So far it can only support 4 people in multiplayer... they are leaving it up to the customers to figure out a mod to add more players and then, they say the game may suffer from lag issues if not over lan.

Ahh, CS was SOOO much fun. I played for months and months .. and was actually very good at it :) hehe, then, I stopped for a bit and tried to get back into it. I SUCKED :) hehe. I'm very much looking forward to this.

Source is the name of the game engine that powers Half-Life 2 and basically the old mods from half-life 1 eg Counterstrike can be converted over to use it.

To explain a bit better the Engine is the part of the game that knows how to draw everything on screen (graphics part) and how all the objects interact with each other (physics part)

Source is shiny...i want it now...

Just an fyi, but if you bought CZ then you can d/l the source beta. Of course those with CZ probably already know that.
