Personally I like the field events (javelin, discus, high jump).

I have watched off and on. Some times it is a good show, other times I can not get into it. Mostly I rather be coding SWG aliases (that is my new love), but when my wife pulls me away from the PC we sometimes watch the Olympics.

I find it hard to really get into most of the games. Maybe I am a product of the new sports age, but I like clear scoring games... much of the judged events leave too much to interpretation for my tastes. I still catch on to some of them... and I do like how most are quick events and not multi hour ongoing competitions. Only way I am going to spend many hours watching one game is if I really know the team. Being that I know nothing about the Olympic teams, quick events are a good thing.

I find myself liking the swimming competitions. Call me dumb, but I find myself on the edge of my seat when it comes down to the end.

I have not managed to see any of the field events yet. All I seems to catch are the horses, diving, swimming, and gymnastics.

I like the events where the accomplishment can be easily measured and world records set.

You can't say that for team sports with scoring, like football. Track and field events rule the sports world in my opinion. No judges' points, just results.

In contrast to Cyrus I like Decathlon for instance. Two days of grueling drama and a variety of 10 events! Awesome.

I saw Amanda Beard take the gold last night in one of the swimming events... think it was the breast stroke. That was sweet. Close race with a come from behind win.

Then I saw the american dude win the gold in the backstroke, then they tried to DQ him and then they didn't. Drama! It all turned out though. Good stuff.

Favorite though - WOMEN'S BEACH VOLLEYBALL! Those chicks are FINE.

Sports that are judged bug me...

I respect the heck out of judged sport atheletes, but judging scares me..

I like sports with a clock, or where its the first person across the line, or where there is a measurement... those are my favorite at the Olympics..

But the women's all around last night was fun, and the gymnastics competition as a whole has been really good this time...
