Ok.. so I broke down and bought the stupid game finally... and now I'm hooked. I played a bit this morning and I'm having withdraws now. I was trying to use the search option here to find the thread we had about Evil Genius, but it doesn't seem to be working right. Anybody remember that thread or where it's found??

I love that game!

I really enjoyed building intricate mazes of opening passages, and then having one trap blow angents against a wall, triggering another trap, and another. I got it so that if they walked in the front door, then about 99% of the time they'd be hit by 6 traps!

Plus, their crafting system is one of the most original I've ever seen.

Yeah, I'm enjoying it a lot. Did anyone else find it sort of annoying to have to be constantly switching between the base map and the world map? I find if I'm not switching, I find my minions dying on the world map, and if I stay on the world map too long, my base if overrun with foes. Any tips?

No tips, I just switched back and forth alot, as well. I found if you put really suspicious areas with good traps in them around, then it attracts most agents and you save yourself a ton of henchmen and time. You can get a cabana out in the sand with a trap in it. Also, you can put doors and fake tunnels of traps in the rock and NOT connect them to your base... just make sure to send minions there every once in a while to clean up the bodies.

Also, as you get higher in level, make sure you have the patch -- otherwise, if you ever save the game with your Mastermind standing next to the Big Screen, s/he starts permanently losing life and the game starts crashing.

I do as you, Yak.

I set up fake entrances that leads right into a round-robin of traps, that keep them busy for a while...I also shut the doors so that my own minions can not enter. But agents find locked doors very attracting.

A tip...do not place loadspeakers in the training hall...you do not want your trainers or their students to run away everytime an agent visits. You want to keep producing units no matter what, so that you can replace your away team. Also, placing one of your heroes on the map is good. they never die on the global map, even if everyone else get defeated..they just arrive back at your island if that is the case.

Brilliant! Never thought of that one.

Also, if agents are ever tunnelling in, it's because an area is blocked off. If it's someplace that none of your minions can go to (beds in a bad configuration), it's easy to tunnel into.

And... For traps, the agents love locked doors, so I like to have one locked door as my real base entrance, and then three or four locked doors behind it.. 2 going to traps, 1 going to the real base. Keeps intrusions to a very manageable number.

OK, I'm stuck. I'm on the second part, where you have to gather up the crime lords. The Russian crime boss is wandering around my island. I've tried everything to get him to come to the table. It says in the goals list something about "mixing" him up. I assume that's a clue that he needs to be put in the big mixer. But I can't figure out how. Any help there?

Think I figured it out. Gotta use the mixer as the interogation device.

I loved the traps and the experimentation.
