Well folks, there are some interesting changes coming up in my life, some of which I've whined and moaned and complained about here, so I figured I'd give you all an update:

I am moving to Denver!! That's right folks, I'm leaving the empty, open spaces of Wyoming in order to become a greenie. I'll be moving to Lakewood to start a new job with a company that does a lot of outsourcing work for the government. I'll be doing computer phone support for their Department of the Interior contract. It should be pretty easy, I'll more than double my current wages, and I should have lots and lots of room for promotions, advancements, and career growth! w00t me!

I am having to say goodbye to the Al's, but I'll only be a couple hours away, and we'll still keep in touch via the magical wonder that is World of Warcraft.

I'll be down there this Thursday looking for someplace to call home, and I will be moving in the weekend of July 16, if all goes well. I'm excited as hell about all of this, and more than a little nervous. I've got an old high school and college buddy down there who actually works with the same company, though, so I'll have a good guy to hang out with and show me around right away.

If any of you want to come over and help me move, send me a PM!!

Cool, Denver seems to be a really nice place. If I get any more work in Colorado Springs, I'll give ya a buzz when I'm in Denver...

Computer phone support...Yuck. Good luck anyway. Think it's just a first step. I'll never do phone support again.

Normally I'd agree with you, but this sounds like it won't be too bad. We're a help desk, not really vanilla phone support. And its for company internal, not general stupid public. And with as good as I am at phone support, and as much experience as I have in call center environments, I should get off of the help desk and into something different very soon.

Very good news Cet. Good luck with the move. Denver seems a pretty nice place. Major Sports teams too to keep you occupied!

You have no idea how much the basic secretary at Microsoft is computer illiterate...You know, the home user guys who buy all configured boxes and answer to "what's written on the screen":" Sony" also have jobs.
It's a first good step into a larger world anyway, good luck ;)

Yep. The people I work with don't know shit about computers. I had to explain unplugging a monitor once.

I had a lady today on the phone, was stepping her how to set up her VPN connection...

I had her pull up the user guide and asked her to go to page 10, to click on a very long link, i didn't feel like trial and error reading it off...

So she loads up the user guide, and starts complaining that the pdf file was scrolling slowly.... i told her to hit page down.... she says, "i don't know what happened but when i hit page down, it loaded up Global Roaming" (the dialup software the company i work for uses) and then went on to say, that her machine is frozen and she can't close the program.... i put the mute on and sighed....

she was scrolling down, and the next page of the setup guide had a picture of the Global roaming screen on it....

This is what i deal with every day. heh.

So, an update, since I've been offline for a while.

I'm up and running in Denver. My new job seems like it won't be too bad at all. For those pesky people, Ravage, we just remote into their computer and fix things for them that way, which will be really nice. No more beating your head into the wall dealing with dumb people on the phones.

There are no single apartments available anywhere around where I live/work, so I had to get a 2 bedroom apartment. The location is awesome, though, and the price isn't bad at all. And I have loads of space. I am fully wired with cable, now, and have my internet going strong again. I've also get HD cable, which I'm really enjoying.

I'm hoping to get back into WoW sometime soon, once I have some time. I've not logged on at all this past week, or even much before that either. My stuff is still all in boxes in my apartment, even though I was "here" last Saturday. I started work on Monday, so I haven't had much time to unpack or organize yet.

I hope to see you all in the near future.
