I'll be playing all day...'cause I'm a junky now. Anyone up for 1v1 place your name here.

Also, lets get a 4v4 or whatever we can get together later today. Anytime is good for me. When is good for you?
4pm Central?

4CST/ 5MST is good for me. I'm still a noob to Civ 4 tho, so depending on who else is around, maybe a game with us vs the world would be in order...

Well, in less than 2 weeks I will have more time during the day which will make it easier to play with you East-Coasters. Looks like I'll be getting Civ4 earlier than I originally planned.

So what's with our Civ4 multiplayer? I heard rumblings of some connections issues. Are we just waiting for a patch?

I have uninstalled CivIV :(

I installed 'The Movies' a few days ago and every since I cannot get Civ to play. I get Errors. I have tried and re-tried every fix that they have posted on the Civ site. It is a bit maddening and it doesn't help that I have a Digital Download and not actual disks (never doing that again).

CIv 4 in MP is a major PITA anymore. It crashes constantly. Sometimes it's the host, sometimes it's the client. It's maddening having to wait and reload the game every few minutes. I'm waiting for a patch.

Funny you should bring this back up. Yeah, I'm still playing. It seems patch 1.52 has caused me a whole mess of problems now. It put more load on the video card's memory instead of the CPU. It causes my vid cards memory to run out of room and crash. I need to uninstall and reisntall, only going up to patch 1.09. I'd be up for an MP game, but as it is now, I crash without warning and it's time consuming to reload the game and reconnect the clients. Hopefully ther reinstall will work.

Depending on if I can dampen this WoW addiction I am hoping to try and get back into Civ 4 and will hopefully be able to get into a MP game to see if problems are still overflowing. I'll first try only going to 1.09 and see how that is (not sure what later patches improved).

I couldnt play Civ 4 on my machine :-) I could do everything it looked like but I couldnt see the map it was all black. Didnt make it very fun when I couldnt see what I was doing. Might look into it again at a later date though. (trying to get work to buy me a better laptop since this one is getting dated)

Yeah, avoid patch 1.52 if you can. Patch up to 1.09, and if it runs good, leave it there. The forums at civfanatics.com are pretty good for discussions on those patches.

Hehe my work laptops have been my primary gaming machine for the past 6 or so years. Most of the time they work just fine but yeah they are not "gaming" systems.

It would probably be best ot get on Teamspeak to get all the connection shenanigans out of the way. But, if my neighbor have another margarita party Sat night, things may be a little hairy for me :P

Drinking margaritas makes you hairy? :P

When taken before bed:
2 Advil + Vitamin-B Complex + Vitamin-C = no hangover headache.

The above formula has been very well tested and does work. You might feel fuzzy/have cobwebs, but that well deserved headache won't be present.

I've always been prone to hangovers. Sometimes I'll take Chaser, which works VERY well, but it's really just lab grade activated carbon. And bodies have a strange way of processing that when it's done. lol

Well, I don't know for sure that I'll be able to play, but make sure to post the time here so if I get lucky I can play too. I won't be able to Teamspeak though.

I love this game. I can't wait to do some MP with it.

I think the game's just too problematic to attempt a large scale MP session at this time. I wondered why so many people did play by email games, and now I know why. It's getting ridiculous how buggy, unfinished games being released have become the norm.

Its really too bad MP is buggy as I played a little singleplayer yesterday afternoon and had fun, though I am not sure how long the peace is gonna remain between me and my Russian friends to the south. They land grabbed and cut off my progress in building new cities and I am stuck with 5. It might be time to build an armada and invade the Incas for some much needed expansion room.

Dang fun game even without MP.

Single player is great because you can take your time and not worry about holding someone else up. You can survey your land, plan attacks, or just enjoy looking at your cities and improvements working. That, and you can access the World Editor in single more :)

I just got it, so give me a chance to play a little and I'd definitely be down for some multiplayer games.
