That is a cool movie. Who were you fighting there? You guys were like a squad of space marines or something. Very fun.

That was our little squad of Zurgs, basically an army unit that says ZURG alot. Just for fun.

We were fighting in the sewers under the city, various thugs and such.

Lots of fun.

How do we reserve the names? I've not seen anything that was actually clear on this yet. Maybe I need to check out the beta boards a bunch tonight at work.

Gasoline a Level 4 Blaster Fire/Fire is now torching foes on Pinnacle.

I tried a Tanker (Taker of Souls) and a Controller too (forget his name)

Not sure if I'm going to buy this game though. I'm getting motion sickness like I do with some FPS games.

First off, thanks to Mantison and Cetera for keeping me interested in CoH.

Secondly, I like this game a whole lot more than I thought I would! Heck, I love it!

Third, I will be picking up CoH but I may not preorder it since I'll be out of town and hopefully can pick up a copy on the road.

Fourth, I'm not going to repeat my SWG mistake and prepay for months and months all at once...

Fifth, if I get into WoW beta...all bets are off. :P

Oh yeah, characters:
Pinnacle: BodyRock (scientific tanker)
Pinnacle: The Girl Next Door (technological defender)
Pinnacle: The Dakota Kid (natural blaster) Even though I just made this guy...I'm thinking he's my favorite - hehehe

I agree with you completely on the prepay deal (never again will I do this). Did SWG inform people of no refunds when selecting the prepay option? I paid an entire year thinking I could get a refund if I canceled. I was disappointed when I discovered no refunds.

I haven't purchased the game yet. I really do like it. I'm still not sure as of now.

I didn't cap that movie, was a friend of mine that was there with us.

The Beta client download site is probably HAMMERED with new folks downloading it, so that is why it is slow.

There appears to be quite a bit of interest in this game. Think it may be worth it to try and get a CoH forum like the WoW one? Especially since launch is only 1 week away.

For those of you that are interested, there appears to be a Rikti invastion going on now of both Prime and Pinnacle. Alien ships are appearing in the sky, and mysterious portals are being found throughout the city. Those of you who are in beta, get in there and take me some screenies while I'm at work!

Sent you a PM with the whole Beta email copied into it, hopefully that helps you some. If you PM me your email address I can try to send you the updater program which is pretty small.

Are we set for Pinnacle then?

Will that be the default Avian server?

Did everyone who pre-ordered or was in Beta get their name reserved?

I ask because they changed the way name reservations work. You now need to have just one character on each server and that character's name will be reserved for you, but only on that server.

NCSoft Email wrote:
Hi there!

We wanted to inform you that based on your feedback, the beta and pre-order name registration process has been re-worked to a system we hope will work out better for all involved.

We encourage you to visit this page and read the specifics:

Be sure you have just one character on the server you're most interested in (and that sounds like Pinnacle).

The group I have been playing with might change their mind. Reserve your names on both Pinnacle and Victory just in case.

Count me in the invasion. I'll be on Pinnacle during the invasion (look for Sonic).

Also, whichever server you guys decide on I'll be there.

I'm going to vote for Freedom (formerly Prime) or Pinnacle as our servers. I've been in a Super-Group on Freedom for testing purposes, and have enjoyed playing with those guys too.

Okay we have Pinnacle, Victory, and Freedom. Can we make a decision by Sunday? As you are all aware, I'm not the most skilled at these games and it takes all my time devoted to one character to barely keep pace to see all the folks ahead of me on the horizon!

:)

Shall I start a poll perchance?

I couldn't find a pre-order in Toronto. Well ok, I only looked on-line and in one retail location.

My Blaster was level 10 when they shut down beta, but with the vast oversupply of blasters I'm thinking Defender or Controller for Live.

What was consensus pick for server?

I think we decided on Victory, Golga. And I guess we'll see you when you get in. Good luck.

I've not ever played with any of the controller stuff, Golga, so I can't give you any kind of reasonable feedback.

Rest you get at second or third or maybe fourth level, it's a freebie that you don't have to pick.

I thought that also, but found out that you need to load it in a slot and select it in order to effectively rest. During beta, rest did not load into a slot and you had to drag it to a slot to use it.

Yes you assign it to a slot, but you don't have to pick it as a power. It is a freebie.

I have the retail version loaded.

Look me up:

Kelvin Frost
magic/controller - Victory

Coma Vigil
magic/controller - Justice

I hope you guys are on victory. Some rl friends I work with are on Justice. I'll be playing both on and off.
