Just when i can think im in the clear with a 50 point lead, here comes Mr. Manning! I am still in the lead with 14 points but Reed from Buffalo still has a chance to get some points, but we dont want that to happen do we? :)

I am still trying to get rid of my Tight Ends. Please, I have 3 really good TEs that I need to get them off my roster. I need a WR and maybe a RB. Let me know, I would like to get more people involved in trades...

Just to rant a little more, its not looking good for me. Owens early on got a TD called back, not sure why yet and Bossman's 3 players seem to be quickly chipping away my once promenint(sp?) lead. Arg! Some weeks you make all the right moves (the best you can) and still get a loss. Meh its a gambling game and Im a gambling man :)

I will make my post-game score post after Buf/KC game. Good luck to everyone next week!

The losing streak is dead! That's a load off. Good game to the System.

I hope you can spell lucky Fifel, because I couldn't have played this week worse. It's not over, but my chances don't look so good. Remind me to never have faith in Miami again.

50 points sitting on my bench. /sigh

Except for the Bengals vs. KC game, the 1:00 games were booooooooooooooring. Good thing the Bengals sweetness was on in the bar. The rest of the time I spent driving. :?

This loss is a little hard to swallow. But, that's the way this season has gone I guess.

I got lucky, When I saw that you picked up Holcomb and that he was playing Arizona (Any QB that plays Arizona is in for good points) I nearly Sh!t myself. It was a very close game only 1.09 was the margine.

Talon got the better of the evening games, with Ne DEF he got a cool 23 points. I doubt TO can pull in 40+ points in one game... so congrats Talon.

Season is heading to Playoffs soon and I couldnt feel more unprepared if I make it. I am depending on 2nd string and replacements to get my points and it is not working out on a consistant level. I guess the draft really does matter...

:P Finally got all my boys on the same page after that losing skid.

... and yes. the draft really does matter. I've not made 1 trade this season. Only made a couple waiver wire moves.

Since I can't get to the playoffs, I think I'll still try to decide who will win. If you see a generous trade in your team site, you have been chosen. I must ponder on this however.

Bah, watch the Noobies make an effort for the playoffs. I have to say, head to head is very nice and exciting, but I keep cursing my bad luck. I have the most points in the league, but my record does not show it. Watch my team have the most points of any team after tonight, again. 8)

Yea, next season we need to downplay touchdowns a little and make carries count. I hate having a rusher go for 100 yrds with 25 carries and be outscored by a fullback with 5 yrds and a TD.

that and make the points for a QB and a reciver the same. Right now the QB gets more points than a WR for the same play...

I think it'd be better to maybe increase the yardage scoring some. Just like in real football, you can get 10k yards a game, but if you don't score you won't win. TDs need the edge.

Actually the WR gets more points (.5 points per reception vs .25 per completion, I believe). The reason for this is because the WR doesn't get thrown to every play. The QB scores points for every completion to every player. It's an attempt to balance the scoring a bit, and add a little extra value to the receivers (especially the consistant receivers).

Big agreement on downplaying TDs. Whether its directly or by proportion to the other stuff doesnt matter.

Just one of those weeks, cant win no matter what moves you made, even though I had a 24 point DEF on the bench. Oh well, here is to next week.

In he league I usually play in we count 1 point for every 10 yards rushed / received, 1 point for 25 yeards passed by QB and don't count receptions or rushes. Heh, what good is it if they throw 10 times to a guy if he only makes 40 yds?

The one thing I do like about this league is, that the RB are not as owerpowering as in most other leagues, but that's because carries don't count, so WR can outscore them.

That is the exact problem that you run into with the default scoring. Having two great RBs can carry a team. Instead of lessening the value of RBs, it's much better imho to increase the value of everyone else.

And I really don't think I'd ever count rushes. At least with receptions and completions there's an element of skill and accomplishment involved in making the throw or catch. With rushes, all they have to do is hold onto the ball once the QB hands it to him. There's really no point. Besides, it would hurt the value of those RBs who split carries for little to no reason.

Are there ways to give bonuses when a certain yardage is reached? Make RB yards from 0 - 25 worth .05, 25 - 75 worth 0.10, etc. That'd balance some things out. I don't mind Rec TDs being worth six, because you can still get a good WR score for just having a good number of receptions. But with RBs, it's all or nothing. This week Eddie George ran for 65 yrds and got me 3.5 points, T.J. Duckett ran 5 yrds and had a TD for Roy and doubled Eddie's points. If carries counted, it would have been much closer and IMHO more fair. If carries count, RBs won't carry a team because if 25 carries at 0.30 pts (same as a completion) is 7.5 pts which is close to a TD. Plus, if you don't have a starting/premiere RB on your team, I don't think you should have the same number of points that a committee gives (unless you have the whole commitee).

Can't really add in conditional bonuses like that. You're basically given the stat categories and can apply straight scoring. Increasing the yardage score for rushing would probably be the main change to make. A RB who gets 20 rushes and gets 50 yards doesn't really help the team that much, and I don't really think it should in fantasy football either. I think making yardage scoring 10yds/point will equal out the value of RBs a lot more. With your example, George would've given you 6.5 points and Duckett would've given Roy 6.5 points as well, which seems quite a bit more equitable. There's really no need to add in scoring for rushes.

If TDs were lessened, than it really hurts the value of fullbacks, who generally are only used for short yardage or goalline situations. With the size of our league, we need to keep the value high for as many players as we can so it doesn't get so completely lop-sided.

Ok bitch session over, how is your team doing?

Okies, one game left, three players, 1 vs 2... a Superbowl QB vs a Wide-Out and a game time maybe Tight End. Thats right the game between the Curs and my Crits is coming down to midnight and its gonna be interesting. I am behind 12 points right now, it doesnt matter what happend on Sunday all that matters is the next 60 min

Good luck Curs, I just hope its not a blow out either way, this is what fantasy football is all about :!: :!: :!: :!:

I will post my regular boxscore after the game, Good luck to all those who need tonights game!
