I ran my last race on Balanced Ambition, what fitness level do you recommend to step up to Brave for the Race? (I'm also at 61% Kilter)

That should do it I would think.

Nah, he's in a much higher group than either of us. My best lap times on this course are in the low 1:15s. You get scaled for your performance after every race. Everyone you are racing against this time is probably as new as you are.

I qualified at 117.66 but I have 3 quals left and I took it easy on my driver in the first one. I am going to try one at insane later on. Closest competition right now is at 118.89 but most are left to qualify yet.

Will 35% kilter and health get me through a race on Audacious or should I go lower than even Brave?

Do I need to be present for the race if I have already qualified or will I just go with my last settings entered?

No, you don't need to be present. Nothing happens that you can watch. It just takes an hour to do calculations and then the results are posted.

With 35% Kilter, you probably won't make it through the race at audacious, and you may have problems with Brave. Dunno for sure though. Lots of factors.

Ok I will choke it down before the race then. That or try to raise my kilter with my limited funds before the race.

Sounds good. Mind if Z-byrd joins as well? He should be admitted into Avian tomorrow.

Qualified 2nd. But I will be hardpressed to win this race as the #1 Qualifier is running high 1:13s, while all I can muster is low 1:15s.

His Racing Team number would suggest he's been around alot longer too. (451,756 vs. my 530,815)

I have no idea what the hell happened to my car and driver this race. I qualified first with times of 117.66 on brave and 116.88 on insane. Set on Brave/Balanced/Brave/Balanced I got my times in pre race practice down to 115.95. My lowest attribute is overtaking at 40 everything else mid forties up to 52 for my health and kilter. The fastest time I ran was 119.7 and I averaged 122 I had engine problems on lap 8 then 3 mistakes before dropping out after a mistake on lap 36. Why was I running so slow. My car is 710 ps everything was fine tuned to 100. I had the settings entered that everyone else was using. I don't get it.

The difference between the 115.95 and my fastest race lap of 119.7 is the most mystifying to me. Guys who never bothered to qualify ran consistent 117's and won the race. Was I overly aggressive in driver settings? Is qualifying a waste of money?

Good afternoon, gentlemen.

Tobias, I had a similar experience in this most recent Europe race. I qualified 4th but placed 8th because four Spaniards who also didn't bother to qualify came in and beat me. It really stinks to be disappointed when you think you're going to do better.

It's not even the getting beat part that bothers me as much as running consistent 116 times then in the race the best I can do is 119.7 with the same exact settings. WTF? :?

Why do the times drop so much on the same settings?

Seriously all whining aside if anyone knows why the times dropped so dramatically with no fatigue issues. I would really appreciate the help.

No joke. I placed 11th. That sucks. Tobias, I think your main problem might the driver settings may be too ambitious for your current driver stats. Just a guess though.

I know Golga did poorly as well since he and Z joined the team prior to the race and neither's score changed. I guess we might have an easier time next week in the LOSER'S bracket? :D

I joined the team...

Placed 10th in my league this week, almost exactly where I qualified..

The other cars were just faster than mine... dropping a handful of groups this week should allow me to garner some points this week. I hope.

Good to have you aboard Manti!

Tobias, one question... does the game allow you to change the motto of our group? I thought it might be a good idea to add a tag line with the web address for avian. Good advertising.

I will add it.

Any objections to moving our discussion to public. I have a friend who joined the team. If we stay here I will just pass him the settings in a message to group.

BTW, how do test settings? I am training when I am making incremental changes to my settings. I tend to see fairly large changes so I suppose that is the way. If I am right the Engine setting is 13 at England. Started at 16 for baseline and then went to 17 but was about .18 slower. Moved down to 15 then 14 then 13 all about .18 faster each time. Went to 12 and was .1 slower ran it again and was only .03 slower then at 13. So 13 is it?

I too am mystified.

I ran slower than I expect, but not too bad. Then with about 10 laps to go I had a generic driving mistake and it retired me from the race!! I didn't crash or get exhausted, so I have no clue how I would have avoided it.

Pretty annoyed too since I think I was going to be top 3. To top it all off, I was one of only two drivers not to finish the race!

sigh.....

As I said before, I think you guys might be setting your driver settings too high. Might want to be more cautious until your stats are higher. just a guess though.

Tobias, is your friend going to join Avian? It would be great to get another member by way of this simple little game!

I have no problem with moving this to the public forum. I'll start the thread.

I doubt it. He's not an avid gamer but he is a racing fan. Add to that he has a newborn and his wife keeps him on a TIGHT leash.

I have another friend who might play as well but he also is not a big gamer.
