5. Seven

4. Pulp Fiction

3. Requiem for a Dream

2. Star Wars (pick one except 1/2)

1. The Usual Suspects

The Shawshank Redemption and Office Space would be on there except for the fact that I've seen them about 75 times. Also, this will change because I love movies, but these are always up there.

Notables: Waking Life, Apocalypse Now, Half Baked, Pi, etc. etc. etc.

1. Star Wars (originals)
2. Gladiator
3. Lord of the Rings
4. Forrest Gump
5. Braveheart

Number 5 was hard for me, because there are quite a few notables: The Patriot, Saving Private Ryan, Hunt for the Red October, Kathy Ireland's Extreme Workout. All very great, very Epic films.

The Matrix would have been as high as number 4 on my list if they hadn't soured my taste for it with the second movie.

Someone had better mention the Wrath of Khan. That's a damned good movie.

In no particular order:

The Princess Bride
Star Wars: A new Hope (ESB was probably better, but I feel like a 9 year kid when I watch ANH)
Die Hard (not the sequels)
The Usual Suspects
Stripes

Bladerunner was...well odd. It is supposed to be one of the greatest movies of all time, but I just didn't get it. Yea to Braveheart and Mallrats, both of those are in my top 10.

1.) Godfather 1
2.) LOTR (both of them)
3.) Holy Grail
4.) Princess Bride
5.) Star Wars (not 1 or 2) well 2 is on the fence, maybe the last half of 2

And to Bladerunner I thought it was an Ok movie, the only reason why I saw it was because I had played the game; I think the game was better than the movie.

I foolishly left "Lord of the Rings" off of my honorable mentions list -- I would probably at least put "Fellowship" there.

Although no Star Wars films are in my personal pantheon, I'd definitely pick "A New Hope" as the best one.

For those of you who haven't read the books and thought Two Towers was good, you are going to be awe struck with Return of the King.

For those of you who have read the books..... You know what I'm talking about.

I read the books twice, and STILL thought the movies were fantastic. I didn't expect a word for word diatribe. ;)

I absolutely agree Talon. I didn't expect exact replication of the books. What I was trying to convey was that Return of the King is the best book out of the three, hence I believe it will be the best movie also.

Ah, Crouching Tiger, I think I was trying to think of that when I made my list. Thanks for the props on Brazil. I wish I had seen the alternate happy ending version so I could say if I liked that better ;)
Whoa, Bossman, remember when Sarah what's-her-face left like 5 minutes before the end of that movie? Holla.

She's supposedly really annoying though -- everyone thinks so: Emma, Anjolie, Tara, etc. No one really knows why Christina decided to room with her.

Okay...now that is at least a funny movie.

Speaking of bad movies however: last night, right before bed, my roommate and I were watching this horrifically bad movie with Ice T about a group of hunters who take a bum and put him in Alaska, and then hunt him down. It was in my top 5 worst movies ever. Night went to day in about 30 seconds, Ice T had a broken leg and a gunshot wound and was still fighting like a rabid dog...it was excrutiating. But, we didn't get the title of the movie. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I just want to know what I can say stole an hour of my life.

OH MAN!! That's a great movie! It's based on a classic work of literature called "The Most Dangerous Game." The name of that movie is "Surviving the Game." Haven't seen it since I was a teenager, so maybe it's worse than I thought.

1) Road to Perdition

2) Full Metal Jacket

3) Shawshank Redemption

4) Gladiator

5) Airplane (Elaine: A hospital--what is it? Rumack: It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.)
