![]() So what do you guys think about this season, the upcoming national championship game, and the teams that did/did not get a chance to play in the big game? BTW my school is LSU! |

For those of you that don't know... i'm a Michigan alum and I am a diehard Michigan football fan. Growing up in Ann Arbor (where the university is), it is in my blood. I have been to almost every single michigan home game since i've been old enough to walk. As you can guess, my prediction is that Michigan will beat USC. I think this was our year to win it all and we really screwed it up by losing to Oregon. I think that USC got screwed and that they should be playing LSU in the Sugar Bowl. How can the #1 team in both human polls not be invited to the National Championship? I'll tell you how... they tried to let computers figure it out... bad idea. Either way I am kinda glad it worked out the way it did... my team is playing in a National Championship game (even if they won't get the title if they win), and the BCS failed horribly. I am really hoping for a playoff in the next few years. My prediction is that LSU will beat Oklahoma and Michigan will beat USC so LSU will be undisputed National Champ. Go Blue! |

The contract says that the Championship game shall be chosen by the BCS because the other polls have proven over the years to be to political at times. USC played something like 1 top 20 team this season. They suffer from a weak schedule. The human polls are wrong I think, I predict Michigan will tear USC up and all will see that USC was ranked too high by the human polls. LSU played more top 20 teams than any other school in the top 20. We had to fight hard this whole season because the first half of our season was weak, much weaker than was planned. We had scheduled teams that were hot, but turned out to be crap this season. Luckily we have to play so many SEC teams at the end of each season, and many of them end up in the top 20 just about every year, helping our strength of schedule. In the old days of college football many teams played powerpuff schedules, where several teams come out with good win/loss ratio. Now a days teams need to play more difficult teams if they want their win/loss ratio to mean anything. I am hopping for a playoff system..... and/or more conferences having conference championship games. The plan was that by now more conferences would have a championship game added to the end of the season… but only 2 conferences have gotten that going so far: SEC and I think Big 12. |

Nokia has long been an innovative company, and I feel like their sponsorship of the sugar-bowl will be a strong win for them. Soon they will begin sending TV shows to be watched on cell phones, another innovation that's soon to be ubiquitous. I don't think Nokia is overvalued by investors or by the BCS system -- it is truly one of the great companies of our time. |

Once Michigan beats USC, the rankings won't matter. LSU will lose to Oklahoma. Michigan is playing the best (I have to admit) right now. |

Being that I live in Oklahoma I gotta go with the Sooners over LSU. Usually I don't watch much football but I'm going to watch the national championship this year (I hope). ![]() |

Actually Cyrus, OU has played more quality opponents than anyone in the BCS top 10. OU, if they show up, will win by 2 touchdowns, USC will lose to Michigan, and OU will win BOTH championships. |

Bossman, was that humor? ![]() Concerning the BCS.... I think the BCS did exactly what it was supposed to do. Oklahoma and LSU have the best records in the NCAA when compared to the strengths of schedule versus other teams around the country. The BCS takes a lot of flack, but it does what it's supposed to do. To the Mole... Ah, so much I could say to you, dear Mole. We are forever bound by the ties of the eternal pigskin. Your victories are my losses. Your sadness is my gladness. Where we come from, college football is our religion, and the last game of the season is our Easter, and you sir, are a member of the hordes of hell itself. ![]() ![]() BUCKEYES IN 2004! |

Correct... my point was that USC does not even belong where they are. In all the polls (all of them) OU and LSU have played more top teams. I don’t think I ever said OU was not deserving of their position, because they are. It is USC who is not deserving... yet the human polls say they are even though the facts do not support it. |
