Wow. I'm in total, utter awe of this film. Simply breathtakingly beautiful. It was quite simply nearly perfect in every dimension.

It has all the emotion I could have ever wished for. It tugged my heart this way and that, with sadness, exhaltation, compassion, joy, and peace.

The acting is probably the best in any movie I've ever seen, with the possible exception of George C. Scott in Patten.

The battle of the Pelenor fields is unbelievable. The last charge of the Rohirrim was simply amazing. The special effects are wonderful, although not quite up to ILMs lofty standards in some scenes. In others, they truly make ILM look quite homely.

This movie is much better than either of the first two, and with as much stuff as I've seen in trailers and such that didn't make it into the movie, the EE will be another 40 additional minutes. I can't wait to see it again. I have to be to work in two more hours, so I'm going to take a quick little nap.

I've read the books. They movies just aren't the books, and I don't expect them to be. I understand that movies cannot do what Tolkien did in the books. That being said........

Cetera, utter awe is exactly how I would describe my state of being right now, except its even better than that. I have only cried to one other movie. This one made me cry four times. I agree with Cetera, the Rohirrim charge was indescribable. Aragorn is my idle. The Witchking is my other idle. I'm quite lost at what to say other than this is the most enjoyment I have ever had from a movie. And I do believe that enjoyment won't go away with the coming times that I will be seeing this movie.

Go see it. If you haven't seen the other Lord of the Rings movies, rent them ASAP, watch them, then go see Return of the King. Then read the books if you think the movies were good.

Somebody slap me....... :::X'ero is in his happy place::::

That was fast...the movie hasn't been out for 7 hours! And it takes half that time to see the whole thing. Go to bed...

Can't go to bed. At work now. I organized a special showing for my work. Here in Wyoming, we don't get midnight showings, so I organized one with the theater, rented it out, and then sold tickets to the people that work at my company, and any of their friends that wanted to go.

Show started at midnight. Ended about 3:30 am. Here at work at 6am. Not much point or opportunity sleeping between there. But now, believe you me, I feel sick. Way too much Mtn. Dew to try to stay awake, not enough sleep, fighting off a flu bug anyway. Not a good combination. I don't recommend it to anyone else.

I'm sorry Cetera! But you just try and tell me it wasn't worth it! :P

Oh, it was most definitely worth it. It was an extremely good movie. The extended DVD is going to be even better.

The movie is also even better the 2nd time around.... :D

I'm jealous, Xero. The theater here only got one print (only six screens, but still) an doesn't play them all day. With the length of the film, they are only showing it three times daily at most, and everyone wants to go see it, so they are all sold out for a while.

I'm sorry Cetera. You come over here to Los Angeles where there are more than a few theatres. We can see it 4 times in one day if you want. :P :D

Well, I can't say I wasn't warned! Wow! What an absolutely incredible movie!!

Having seen the third installment on film, my level of respect for the creative genius of Tolkien and the inspired direction of Peter Jackson have increased significantly.

If I'm ever in the area, Xero, I'll look you up. I don't think I'll be going to LA anytime soon, though, unless you have a small fortune you are looking to blow with Avian buddies.

I beleive in the US they add caffiene. Those Americans will consume anything with cafiene.

And yes, the movie was VERY exciting. Although people got a little thrown wait for the final, final ending. Personally I felt that was fine, the book goes on like that as well.

I was surprised how long it took to get to Shelob, considering that part was in The Two Towers.

They don't put caffiene in Mountain Dew in the rest of the world????? What the hell good is it then?? That's the only reason to drink the stuff!!

Anyway, back to the topic at hand...

Just saw it (finally). I must say, this is the best of the three. I felt my bladder was going to burst at any moment during the last hour, but I just couldn't get up to go. It wasn't even the normal levels of agony ordinarily associated with such an experience, on account of the fact that my body was in a theatre here, but I can tell you, my mind and spirit was engaged in battle on the plains beyond Minas Tirath. Quite engrossing. Oh, and the Witchking is a badass.

Of course, he did get stabbed by a Hobbit, and killed by a woman. So I guess he can't be all THAT much of a badass. :P

Awesome movie... Very impressive. I must say that this was about the best ending to a trilogy I've seen since, well, Return of the Jedi. Seriously.
