I just wanted to let everyone know that I won't be in-game for roughly a week or so starting tomorrow. I'm going to be having surgery tomorrow morning. I'm basically having my face broken so that functionally and aesthetically my nose works better. It's nothing major or life-threatening so everything should go smoothly, but I'll just look like I got the crap beat out of me for a while.

I'm going to be staying with my parents while I recover so I can be spoiled, therefore I won't have my comp around to get in-game. I'm just gonna gauge how I feel to decide when I'm coming back to my own apartment, but I'm hoping to be back in a week or less (10 days till the splint is off). For anyone who has outstanding orders, I apologize. It won't bother me at all if you go to someone else to get them filled, but just leave me a message in-game that you did so. I'll check the boards when I can. Have fun, I know I will (/swallows pain killers :D).

Best of luck, Marrok! I'll want to talk to you about this once you get back - it's something that was recommended to me but I was in a real busy time of year for work :P

Holy crap the doc beat the crap out of me. Got two nice looking black eyes, puffed up cheeks reminiscient of when I got my wisdom teeth out, and a stuffy nose from hell. I'd post pictures, but I don't have any, and none of you would want to see them either.

And Rocklar, we can certainly talk about it later. Right now I've still partially got that what-was-I-thinking reaction to it, so I probably wouldn't give a great opinion.

Hope everything is going well. Probably will be at least a few days before I might be back in-game. /resumes being pampered

No way, they fixed your nose? I don't think I can be friends with you anymore, Mr. Straight and Beautiful Nose. Uh...get better soon. It seems unclear to me how nose surgery gives you black eyes, but I guess it happens.

That's what you get for going to a combat medic...

Don't worry, cartilage has "memory" so it won't actually ever be perfectly straight. And the doc ended up having to break every bone in my nose, which accounts for the black eyes and swelling all over. More specifically the bone at the top of the nose (between the eyes), which as you'll all remember was the main problem, was likely the main cause for my eye decoration. The doc actually crossed out his initial procedures (an estimated 2 hours) and rewrote it as "total nasal reconstruction" (which accounted for the 3.5 hour procedure).

Finally got some air flow through my nose which was nice, and most of the swelling and the black eyes are almost gone. One of these days I'll taste things again. I'm currently slated to be back on Friday at some point.

Ok, well in that case, I guess you can stay on as friend. Maybe.

Okay, finally back home. Got the splint taken off today (which they said would hurt less than getting the stitches removed, to which I say "liars!"). I'm probably gonna have a long SWG marathon tomorrow. Hopefully my stuff still exists, but if not it gives me a nice chance to start over. ;)

I almost had my first post-op sneeze today, but I quelled it... thank god
