I'm trying to buy another 256mb RAM for my machine but since I don't know very much about hardware at all I need some help making sure what I buy works.

I have a Dell Dimension 4100. When I went to Dell's site it said that what I need was, "SDRAM PC133, Non-parity, and unbuffered." Is there anything else I should consider when buying this thing?

Also, I found at newegg a stick (more expensive than the others) that said it was configured for the Dell Dimension 4100 series. Can I get away with buying a cheaper one that doesn't specifically say its configured?

Thanks for the help. Hopefully after this a trip through Coronet won't send me restarting. :(

I like Corsair a lot, that's what I have had in my Dells and in my built PC now.

I shop Crucial for my RAM. Never had any problems with it, and never had a reason to try other brands. And for your model (going from the info you posted), here's a link to what they offer: http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.asp?Mfr%2BProductline=Dell%2BDimension&mfr=Dell&cat=RAM&model=Dimension+4100+Series&submit=Go

Ha, I hope so, cuz my whole PC (without the screen) costs as much as 1GB of Corsair...
