A friend suggested I check There out and I'm installing it right now. There's a 14 day trial so I'll post more info here as I learn about the game (is it a game or a sandbox?). Just from the little I've read, it seems something like The Sims Online except it's not about gaining experience or anything, just about hanging out and getting cool toys.

Well...nothing that really snagged my interest. Picture The Sims, Gap, Sharper Image and Ikea all mixed together in a blender labeled 'MTV.'

Basically, it's one huge social game. Cool enough, but in order to really be cool, you have to spend There bucks on clothes, cosmetics, furniture, toys, etc. How do you get There bucks you ask? Oh you can host events, have a job in There, create content for There or...plain and simple, you can just buy them...with your own real cash. :P

At first blush, it seems to me this is a thinly veiled attempt to separate wealthy, trendy types from their expendable income :( and not really much of a game. Of course, I do have another 13 days left of the trial but only 2500 (or so) There bucks left from the initial 5000. That's what happens in a world where a paintgun costs 5,999 and a new shirt 1,499. :(

Check it out if you'd like and post your opinion!
