I preordered today. Unfortunately, the game store were out of preorder disks. No problem, the game arrives tommorrow about noon. I'll jump on the server you guys are on. I have rl friends that will be on a different server. I'll probably have two characters running. Not sure what name yet, but I will definitely be a controller. I'll see you guys in the city soon... |

Okay, Enlil's Hand is at level 10, and is pretty efficient at helping young pups level up faster... I created another character last night to be my "Avian" character, sort of. Made a Tanker Invuln / Super Strength guy named Quiet Fury. Got him up to level 4 last night. HE IS STRONG!!!! hehe... |

I smell a supergroup.... |
Author: | Golga Bolg [ Thu Apr 29, 2004 11:45 am ] |
Post subject: | |
I think Supergroup is a fine idea. I've come to realize my character is currently FULL Support. Ie. I really need a group around me to complete missions. I'll have to wait until my mid 20's until I can contribute significantly in the damage department. However I can heal very well, but I think a Defender specializing in Empathy would outheal me. |

Yeah, my guy is pretty much full support as well and can't deal out much damage. But usually in a group, there's hardly any down time for me and not enough endurance to go around. Res may be a waste of a skill though. It takes a long time and doesn't stop the experience debt (from what I hear). |

Res is never a waste, it saves running back from a hospital, which is a BIG deal if you have a long run.... My main is pretty much support and crowd control, with some buffing... My alt Tanker is a MONSTER BADASS though, I really like him.... |

You can always use Teleport friend for those long hauls or use a Rez inspiration. 250 influence per res might be a small price to pay for a skill slot. and I have an alt who is a fire/fire blaster and a guy on freedom for soloing (just for when the mood suits me). He's a natural/scrapper with dark melee and enhanced recovery. So farat level 7 he's been alot of fun. Shaodw Maul is a fairly useful skill. Still it will be great to see the game when the characters hit level 20+ |

Support rocks. People will remember you for saving their ass and preventing the large debt at higher levels. Higher level missions must have good crowd control, and good crowd control/support people are a rare in any MMORPG. I decided to play a controller, because I was tired of the immature support players that you encounter here and there. My goal is to be the best damn support person in the group, and save as many peoples ass as I possibly can.... Rock on! |

Quick thread-jack - is this game worth picking up? |
Author: | Cetera [ Sun May 02, 2004 3:34 pm ] |

I tend to think so, but I may be a bit biased. It doesn't have the shear depth of "do anything" that SWG does, but it seems to be a lot more fun. |

if i buy COH i need someone to upload the patch files every time there is a patch to my website, since my ISP has a rate limiter to everything other than HTTP, patchers tend to just time out on me. Is anyone up to this task in order to have another Avian in the game? |

Mant, you and I have a lot in common when it comes to selecting characters. I can't wait to get to level 14 to fly. I got my hover maxed out on enhancement upgrades. You go boy! I made level 10 yesterday. I thought I was gonna start a tanker, but I gots to get to 14. I haven't felt crack like this in a game since EQ... Cya |

Boris, when you hit 14, switch out flight speed on your hover with defensive enhancements, it really helps out. And use the fly enhancements on your Flight power. I am at 15++ and I haul ass, hehe... |

Still only level 11, but I should be closing in on 12...it would be nice to get flight or teleport for that extar movement speed. I hope to see more of you in Victory some day soon (especially since I am a support character and can't solo effectively). |

Well feeling all down about no one wanting to help me out with patch files since i fear i might not be able to patch COH... I went out and decided to buy it anyway.. I walked all the way to the PX only to find they didnt have it yet, but they might have it by the weekend. WHO KNOWS.. =-/ If i cant find someone in the guild to help me patch the game, i'll find someone outside of the guild, but its pretty shitty that i have to =-/ |

Aranoc, I don't even know how to do what you are asking. You might want to see state what it takes t get this done. And there are only a few Avians in the game, not the entire population. |

It's called dragging and dropping the files they update during a patch.. Very simple and short process... Short depending on your connection.... |

Aranoc Tanuna wrote: It's called dragging and dropping the files they update during a patch.. Very simple and short process... Short depending on your connection.... Simple if you know what the heck you are talking about. I run the CoH updater and everything happens behind the scenes for me. So if you want results, you might want to layout a detailed plan including how these things get to you.
If it's not worth the effort, then how would you expect someone to do this favor for you? |

I've looked on the website and stuff, and I'm not seeing any stand alone patch downloads. I think you can only patch through the patcher. You're probably out of luck. |

No kidding cetera, what im asking is for people to take the files from the directory that have been patched and upload them to my Website so i can download them, if anyone has ever checked www.tuorn.com/upload i got all of the SWG patch files dating back to like Publish 5. Its pretty simple, alls u do is sort the COH folder by " modified " and you see which files have been updated since installation, those = patch files. |
