My post count of 1945 reminds me of World War 2..and the war ending...It also reminds me of the anniversary of D-Day next Sunday...even though D-Day was on June 6th, 1944....and yes I'm a HUGE World War II fan, and history buff, and history major at college! I expect all of you to be watching the history channel next Sunday! :D

We must not forget! We must remember those lifes lost; the lifes who helped us preserve our freedom, and ways of life!

"Never before has so much been owed by so many to so few" - Sir Winston Churchill

Ok so that was for the Battle of Britain, but near enough!

WWII is still a big deal where I come from. However, we celebrate the end of it (May 9th) and the day of our uprising (April 27th) more than D-day, since we were lucky enough not to need any foreign forces to liberate our land. It cost us 10% of our total population, though :(

These things should really never be forgotten.

What a strange thread this is.

EDIT: Sweet! My post count reminds me of the (American) Revolutionary War.

I am originally from Slovenia, which used to be part of Yugoslavia until 1991.
