I bought Morrowind for the Xbox about a week ago. I'm playing a dark elf assassin who has a bit of a pilfering addiction. I'm finding the game to be VERY slow and fairly difficult to do anything of any real use. I walk around exploring and stealing from various citizens and killing a few rats here and there. If I attempt to kill anything other than a rat, I generally get my ass handed to me. Am I doing something wrong or is that just the way it is until you get over the n00b-itis? And what is there to look forward to in this game? |

The game is actually a lot of fun. If you tend to focus more on combat, you may want to try a different class. But as for what the game has in store for you...Very non-linear play, involved and convoluted storyline and a pretty impressive array of items (armor, weapons, etc). Add to that the Editor (the same tool they used to make the game), and you have a lot of great gameplay. Oh, that's right, you probably have to play it on the PC to make use of the Editor ![]() ![]() ![]() |

lol.. thanks Rocky. I'm actually enjoying it a lot, even though I'm having a tough time. The only thing I really don't like about it is the load times (yes I know, play the PC version right?). It takes like 3 minutes to load everytime I die and that's pretty frequently. |

Indeed, Morrowind is a great game. You can do the quest pretty much in the order you want (you can begin the main quest being level 50). To steal something from a shop, just steal when nobody's watching. You can get the sight of the saler where you want, just get close to him and have him look to the opposite side then wait for 5-6 seconds and he won't move for 1 or 2 min. Note that the important stealing attribute isn't Invisiblity but Chameleon. If you want any help just ask ![]() |

Awesome... so you can steal stuff right from under the nose of the shop keepers? I haven't been that brazen yet. I stole some stuff from a trader's basement then went upstairs and tried to sell it back to him and they made me pay a fine. lol. |

You can even, at higher levels, steal in their pockets ![]() |

This kinda worked against me when I played it through the first time. I was taking my time with the story line but was honing my thieving skills. Once I got into the game, I picked up a mission that required me to steal a particular, named ancient helm that I had already stolen and sold to a vendor. "No biggie," I thought, "I can just buy it back from him." This would have worked except the moron had immediately equipped the item when I sold it to him. ![]() |

I played this game on the PC for a while. It was very fun at first, but later I felt it was going too slow. It was probabaly my fault, I tried to gather evey item I could, so I spent more time gathering stuff than following the story. I even set up rooms filled with my loot. Oh and I also got my ass handed to me. Eventualy I played less and less. |

Yeah, getting your ass handed to you is no fun on the Xbox because of the load times. It's horrible, so I find myself staying away from combat just so i don't have to watch the maddening load screen. Anyway, I finally made level 3 last night! ![]() |
