Post subject:  High End Graphics Cards
I have an 128 MB ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, but was wondering...what really high end cards are out their compatible with most games?

I mean cards probably used by amateur / semi professionals. I don't know a lot about this industry, but something tells me for 750-1000 bucks I can get a graphics card that's better than anything made by ATI or Nvidia. Am I correct?

Yes it is, unless you have very dep pockets and money really isn't an issue :wink:

hmmm....well for gaming a card has to be 100% compatable with OpenGL or DirectX

the real high power cards (used for 3d rendering) are rarely fully compliant.

If you want the most beastly, psychotically, overpowered system

Grab 2 Geforce 6800 Ultra's and plug them into a Dual PCI Express motherboard

That will give you almost double the rendering power and would set you back nearly $1000.

Once my bank robbery is completed i would happily go for this option.. :)

Allthough...I wouldn't mind spending 1000$ on a video card being as I am a hardcore pc gamer...hehe...I'm what you call one of those "Cool Asian Nerds" even though I'm not asian....lol I love martial arts and exercise, but I also love computer games. :P....I'm also obsessed with eating healthy....I'm a neat freak too...and a clean freak...I gues I'm like a grandma or a mother lol
