The Chronicles of Narnia are in the works and the children are all cast for The Lion, the Witch, and the Warddrobe.

Someone finally bought the rights to "Magic Kingdom for Sale/Sold" and supposedly that's in preproduction.

The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy is well under way.

So which of these do you think will do really well? What do you really want to see made into films from pre-existing stories/books?

I think I'd prefer most a well done Chronicles of Prydain movie. I've never seen the Disney version of The Black Cauldron, but I heard it was awful. I'd really like to see a well done live action movie those books, though. They were awesome when I was in middle school.

I'm looking forward to the Chronicles of Narnia, and hopefully they'll keep the spirit of the books. I'm sure I'll love the H2G2 movie. Those guys seem to know what they are about, and the script was written by Douglas Adams.

In short, isn't anyone awake? I am, and I'm bored. Someone entertain me, please. I've been burning DVDs all day, and watching them.

I'd like to see Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time" series. I think a group of unknowns would be best for most of the cast with a single, very strong, experienced big-name actress in the role of the Amyrlin Seat. Could be cool. Even though the game stunk up the place. :P

Would love to see David Edding's....The Belgariad followed by The Malloreon made into true motion picture movies...I think that'd make it 10 movies...as I think their were 10 books...while the writing wasn't as good as Tolkiens...I nevertheless was enraptured with both series...

I'd love to see the Belgariad and the Mallorean made into movies. The Wheel Of Time would kick ass, too.

If they actually make Magic Kingdom For Sale/Sold into a movie, I am gonna squeal with joy. I loved those books. Funny as hell. I just hope they can do it justice and not make the movie suck ass, like they did with Anne Rice's Queen Of The Damned. That movie made me sick because of how much they butchered the books it was based on.

I think any Asimov fans are going to be disappointed with I, Robot. From looking at the previews, it doesn't look like they followed the book at all. Too bad, because I loved those books, as well.

I would love to see R.A. Salvatore's Dark Elf Trilogy (Homeland, Exile, and Sojourn) on the big screen. But for the love of god, have someone good do the movie. Many great stories are ruined by weak producers and directors.

I tried reading the Dark Tower series.... and I had trouble getting into it. Maybe it was all the outside interference. I had just quit work to go back to school and times were chaotic around then. I guess I need to try those again.... did they start with "The Gun Slinger"?

As for Ender's Game, I guess I need to read it also. I feel like I am the only one who has not. I remember back in the pre-SWG days, many of you guys loved it.

I'd like to see this too. I hadn't heard they were planning on making this.

However the rest of the series I doubt will ever see the silver screen.

EDIT: Apparently it has been announced, with Wolfgang Petersen directing. (of Troy, Perfect Storm, Air Force One, and Das Boot credentials)

I, Robot apparently nicked the title, the three laws and a few characters, but otherwise the story is completely different. Still it looks like a good movie regardless of whether it is true to the book or not.

I thought I, Robot was made after Isaac Asimov's classic book. Are there going to be sequels, like the "Caves of Steel", "Naked Sun" and "Robots fo the Dawn"?

Cyrus and Rocklar..I LOVE YOU!!! Those are my 2 favorite series! I just finished book 9 of wheel of time, moving to book 10 now. And Ive read every Drizzt book, some of them twice. Drizzt is the best character in fantasy today hands down. Those two series would make awesome movies if they were done well. (very big budget hehe)

Yes, Cyrus, The Gunslinger is the first book.

Dragonlance would be a good choice, if you stayed within the first few books.
