I sincerely apologize for stirring up anything bad that may have arisen in the political conversation we had tried to have. It was never my intention to have anything bad happen. I just thought we were mature enough to hold a good conversation, but I gues peoples views are just too strong to be voiced here.

I'm a bit saddened that I can't talk politics here anymore, but I suppose its for the best.

I'm taking a long vacation now to visit my uncle in Colorado, and I'll be talking with you all later.

Don't worry about it. Personally, I don't think it had gotten to the point where the thread needed to be closed. People had expressed their beliefs, but it had not gotten to the point where it became a heated discussion, and people were not taking shots at others.

But I guess politics is just something we should stay away from... that, and religion. Wars have been fought over less.

I actually avoided the thread as I'm not interested in American politics. But yeah, those topics should be avoided, especially when people have opinions about the subject! If you consider that most of the wars occuring at the moment are fundimentally due to religion (although other things tend to be brought in at a later point) that's good to avoid too.

It was stopped before it got out of hand so no harm done.

The tricky thing with locking bad threads is that you need to catch it before it gets bad. Mainly because threads go bad when people troll it and let their emotions build up and up in less than an hours time.
