I looking at my system usage I am at 100% usage when I am idle! Looks like a file called SVCHOST.exe is running 80-95% of my cpu. I guess this is a virus but I ran my Virus scanner and got nothing.

Any clues? My computer is just dead until I figure this out.

Nah, just teaches you to be quick about your installation of updates FASTER after you get a new computer online. For all that time you lagged out, you were sending other people sasser.... (the processor useage is it scanning for open ips and sending itself)

I had the same problem last time I reformatted. My roommate ended up looking online for a fix and got rid of it.

Does it also shut down your anti-virus software?

yeah insulot to injury my ISP chose to crap out today and RCN said it would be fixed within 2-48hours!
I am at a cafe' right now as that long away from a comp makes me start shaking.

I ran all my adware etc etc etc I found I have a Virus and just need to go through the long process of getting rid of it. Forgto the name of it but it is annoying. I'll figure it out.
