http://stationplayers.station.sony.com/ Quote: Station Players™ is the official online service that connects players to the EverQuest® II community. This web-based suite offers an array of features that give players incredible access to their characters and guilds by merging the game world with the world wide web
This world-first product is an example of SOE’s continuing effort to offer top-notch community services both in and out of game. Station Players gives you the depth and breadth of tools as well as contact with the community that is unmatched by any other MMO on the market. It does this by giving players an abundance of valuable services and benefits that are continually being updated as EverQuest II grows. Station Players offers automatically updated character profiles, item databases, and much more. Additionally, every guild will also get their own free web site where they can post news articles, screen shots and guild specific forums. Premium services allow you to chat with your guild in-game, check to see who is online, and have your guild’s activities immortalized in a “Wall of Fame”. List of Screenshots Reminds me of the printable character sheets idea everyone wanted before SWG was released. Cool stuff! |

This kind of service is amazing, I think the web to game chat is great, all the guild support seems very strong, as well as the inventory and item database. Wow was to have something like this, but I have not heard anything about it in a long time. I wonder if it will be able to hold a candle to EQ2? Let me ask you something, why does EQ2 have it but not SWG? Seems like SOE could do it for both. |

"Start small, but think big." My guess is they want to use it as a "lure" naming it as a feature for interested players and to keep the suits happy. This kind of stuff has been swirling in the winds for a while. I think EnB had webpage stuff (mentioned that before) and I remember the devs saying stuff way back pre-beta about incorperating the net into SWG for guilds and the like. More wishful thinking I guess, but if it actually is launched with EQ2 finally, maybe we'll see it in SWG later. My guess on how they are thinking- "Launch the service as an EQ2 feature then work on it, tweak it, find out if people like it or not then spend the money on broadening its reach into games like SWG after a while." |

Anarchy Online has had web pages for guilds for a long time. Their chat system is IRC based so you can chat with people in game even if you're not playing, you can use irc bots for looking up items or people or what lvls you can team with. All items/guilds/members are availble as xml data from their web page and players have done some really cool things with this data ![]() |

This comes as part of the 14.99 / month, right? |

Post subject: | |
Correct, several of the features come as part of the $14.99 fee. There are 4 premium features that cost and additional $0.99 each, or if you choose to have all 4 premium features you only pay $2.99 more per month. |
