Is this an XP Pro this only? I have Pro on my Desktop but not my Laptop and I need .net on my laptop to run a program. I have a copy of Pro but I dont have a Code for it and I don't want to go through all that crap again with SP1 |

Nah, it's a free MS download. You can get the upgrade from the Windows Update site or off of the MS page without XP Pro. Basically, it allows pre-compiled .NET applications to run on your machine, which are used in a lot of new programs. Kinda like MS's solution to Java, just much better (IMO, of course... no arguments please from the anti-MS tree-hugging crowd). |

yeah I found my error. There is a new MS Installer update that I hadn't gotten. Once I updated that I installed everying from the Updater just fine. |
