Anybody else following it? I'm a raving Indians fan, so this is getting pretty exciting.

Not too much. Our Canadian team is all but out of the race after their dismal 2 week road trip a few weeks ago. that and Doc Holiday getting hurt for the rest of the year back when really cost them at least 10 wins in the standings.

I'm not a huge ball fan but love watching the playoffs. Not sure who my team will be this year. All I know is anyone but the Yankees! :P

I think I liked it better when expectations were low. Back when if you asked a fan about the Cubs losing so much they would respond with, "That's our Cubbies" and then they'd drink another Old Style.

Been following the Nats....they had a good season, but I don't think play-offs are in the cards for them.

Doesn't look like.. good season for a first go round though.

Indians are a half game out! Gotta get past this series against the Twins though... and the Sox. Got a tough month ahead of us.

You were not accused of being a trout, but rather the recieving patron of one.

For some reason, the old fogies around here like to hit people over the head with trouts. It's a time honored tradition that sounds just plain silly when explained. Just go with it, baby.

Yeah, someone remind me where it did actually come from? If I remember right, it's something to do with SWG's fishing and the saying: slap round the face with a wet fish.

yeah that is an oldie. I remember fondly my first /trouting.

I kinda always thought it was a Rom saying since he was the resident fish.

Didn't come from me, I just played along. I had no idea where it came from either.

Bah! My Tribe lost to the A's last night. They're still a full game ahead of the Yanks though. Tonights game is going to be crucial in maintaining the lead.

How crazy was that last night??? All 4 teams in the AL trying to get to the playoffs lost.

This whole week is gonna be crazy. As long as the Yanks don't make it I'll be happy.

How about them Braves? 14 straight division titles... and hopefully 2 championships in those 14 years, but i'm not holding my breath!

Yea, not holding my breath here either .. but, think about it. 14 straight division titles. Think of it like this .. what if an SEC football team won 14 straight division titles .. say, LSU, or UGA .. 14 times in a row! .. but, only won one National Championship, or 5 SEC titles. I'd be happy enough. Or, kids born 14 years ago will be driving pretty soon ... they don't know baseball without the Braves. 14 in a row is pretty amazing, considering all the players and situations Cox has coached through. He's an amazing coach for sure.

Absolutely. Very respectable record. BUT, just because I like to argue, you can't compare it to the SEC on account of the fact that there's only 6(?) teams in the Braves division, versus how many in the SEC? But I hear what you're saying... very impressive nonetheless. :P

Well .. we're talking divisions. So, each division of the SEC has 6 teams (2 divisions, 12 teams total). The East division with the Braves have 5 teams .. so, close enough. Just to argue :)
