I have been wanting to get info/gossip/ideas concerning the next season of 24. I never got around to asking, but in light of Yak's Lost thread, I thought it high time to start talking about 24.

I started watching 24 half way through last seasons. At the time I was looking to buy prizes for a real life Avian game I had been planning. You guys had been talking about 24, Deadwood, and other shows. So every time I passed by DVDs I would examine those shows, their series details, and their prices. Around that time Danyale was paying attention to me hoping to get ideas for an anniversary present for me. She bought me the first 3 seasons of 24 thinking was looking at out of my own interest.

I was quickly hooked. In fact Danyale and I prefer to watch the DVDs because there are no commercials, and we don’t have to wait a week to see the next episode.

When will the past season be out on DVD?
I missed the beginning of this season, and just the other day A&E played the whole season back to back, but I only discovered it after the shows I missed the first time had come and gone.

When will the new season start?
Four Hour Premiere! Jan 8th & 9th

What do you think the next season will be about?
I have my personal hunches, but don’t have any creatable information.

best show on tv, ever, IMO.

we prefer to watch them on DVD as well. all 3 seasons, so far, we watched over the course of 1 weekend(each). 12 episodes a day for 2 days.

The details are gone from my brain, but it seemed pretty obvious from the ending of the last show.

The one thing i really loved about last season was that the bad guy actually was smart and not falling into traditional stupid bad guys stuff that gets him caught.

I've been hooked from the first episode of the first season. Kiefer does a great job with the intensity of his character that makes you believe he is Jack Bauer. I don't think anyone can get around in LA as fast as they do, but I don't that detract from the show. I would say that they have taken more liberties as seasons come out with the timeline concept.

I got burnt out on 24 after watching the first 3 seasons on DVD one after another over a period of about a month and a half.

So how many of you guys are watching the new season?

It started Sunday night. Two hours Sunday, and two hours Monday. It is getting good already, and from the end of tonight’s show it looks like things are just getting started.

I am! This is about the only show on television that both me and my wife watch together, and enjoy. I really like the way they will not hesitate to kill off main characters. Problem is .. waiting until next week to see what happens :)

Talon got me hooked 1/4th the way through last season.... then I got Danyale hooked watching the first season DVD. This will be the first time she watches the show on TV. Up until now she has only watched the DVD. Already she is saying she likes the DVD because with it she can pop in a new disk and keep the story going. TV makes you wait. :(

She gets so into it. Last night she said she almost doesn’t want to watch it because the president pisses her off so much. I told her "now you know what I was talking about last year".

Danyale and I watch very little TV now that she is more of a gamer. This is one of the few shows we watch together.

My favorite part is when Jack Bauer shoots someone in the head. You can always count on good ol' Jack to pop someone in the noggin every episode.

My favorite show on TV... I only wished we had finished watching Season 4 before Season 5 started...

So far, this is a great season already! The only thing I don't like about it, is they came off the "Jack is dead" plot too quickly. I think it would have been fun to let that go on for few weeks, with Jack doin' stuff more stealthy because he's supposed to be dead. A little more cloak-and-dagger. Know what I mean?

you mean, more dagger than cloak?

Remember, he still doesn't work for CTU and it's stil lvery personal to him. Are we suppose to know who the current bad guy is and why he's trying to set up Jack Bauer?

Yeah... in the months leading up to this premier my mind was trying to speculate how the new season would be. In envisioned Jack, Tony, and Tony’s chick setting up shop as their own terrorist ass kicking squad. With the bounds of LA broken, they could operate globally. I figured they would have Cloie remain in CTU but helping them gain access to government satellites, servers and the like.

I figured the show would take that freedom and run with it. All the while the world would think Jack is dead. I was wrong.

Hmmm... I've never watched. Is it as good as Lost and Firefly? If so, I might have to start. I haven't watched Alias yet, either... and was thinking of starting those.

I wouldn't go that far. Firefly, to me, was much better, but then again, I'm a huge Firefly/Serenity fan, so I'm biased.

My Tivo which contained the first 4 episodes, died. Anyone know a good site I might download these from?

oh dear.. that's a crime there. You missed out bad. Might be able to find a torrent file with the episodes.

whoah. good episode. I thought Jack was gonna REALLY mess up the mole there for a minute. Kinda disappointed he didn't have to hook him up to a car battery this time. LOL! "I'm not CTU."

My only complaint with 24, is that, you want the next episode immediately and not wait the additional week. Each episdoe seem to only go about 35 minutes (perceived time/and that's probably because of the commericals).

Based on that, a 9 hour work day would feel like 5 hours 15 minutes. Wouldn't it be nice...I've had a few days like that, but not recently.

yeah.. that's why, as Cyrus said (or Danyale rather), the DVDs are definately the way to go. Of course, then you have quarantine yourself while the current season is playing so you don't find out the plot until it's released on DVD.

did you find a torrent file? (if you've found one, hop on one of the IM things and shoot me a PM with your screen name, and I'll walk you through how to get it. Ravage had to do that for me a while back).

I couldn't download the files and it said I need a torrent loader so I downloaded one but it made search through it and then I couldn't find a season 5 file on it. I don't know how to use one to get to a file I find by searching through google.

Once you have a torrent downloader program running, you should be able to go to a website where you found the file, and just download it, and the torrent program SHOULD take over the download. I recommend Azureus for downloading.

Fox news just went to commercial teasing about Jack Bauer on the Big Screen. Could there be a 24 movie? Guess I will find out in 2 minutes.

yes, rumor is that they are toying around with shooting a movie between this season and the next.

I think the TV is the best format for the show...just have to have no commericals, and morfe episodes/faster...and no, I don't want to wait for the DVD :P

Could this new President be more of a BOOB?!?!? I don't think so. Jack should have threatened to pop HIS eyes out with the knife.

I like that Agent with the red hair. What's his name? Aaron something.

Yeah Aron is a cool character. One of those secondary guys that has been in each season. I like him too.

What do you think about Sean Austin in this season. I was shocked when he first came on. I thought he was going to pull rank and fire Bucannon last night. He didnt, but I bet that is not the last encounter like that to happen.

Yeah, it's funny seeing Samwise running around as head of CTU. :P I think he's alright though. I thought during the first couple episodes that he was going to be the "inside guy" for the bad guys... before the other little twirp was found to be the mole.

WOW tonight’s show had to be the best one in the history of 24. There was one a while back that made me think they were getting liberal with the close calls... but this show made up for any past and future mistakes.

Can Samwise be more of a pain in the ass. I loved him when he first came, and he had me pulling my hair out. That guy is a good actor, even when he is playing the A-hole.

Jacks old boss is a bad ass. Caught Jack coming in the door. Fooled me into thinking he was a good guy. Then comes closer to blowing Jack up than anyone else.

Curtis... I freaking love that guy. About time they give him a strong part in a show. Jack owes him big time for that BS last show. No need to knock the guy out like that. The show always has very strong Black Men, and Curtis is no exception.

The F-in president. I hate, hate, hate the president. He is such a dumb ass, and he multiplies his problems by making horrible, unethical decisions left and right. Character wise he is good. That idiot gets more emotion out of me in 2 minutes than most characters in 2 hour movies. From here on out, in RL I will scrutinize our VPs in elections. That looser is such a screw up, he actually scares the shit out of me.

Oh, I was so worried that they killed off Aaron. But he was just knocked out.. when he came to he took care of business. That guy rocks.

I COMPLETELY agree.. that was one of the BEST episodes EVER. I was literally TICKED OFF when it was over. Why do they have to wait a whole week for another episode??? :P

Curtis is the friggin MAN. That was absolutely classic. It brought back memories of Denzel Washington in "Crimson Tide." Remember that? Great movie.

The President needs to be shot at the end of this season, if not before. And I wouldn't be disappointed if Mike Novack pulled the trigger, and he was locked away for life. That guy annoys me for some reason.

As for Jack's old boss.. That guy's going to be trouble. After all, he IS Robocop. (anybody else realize that?) :P

And how about Audrey Reins? Is she not the best female character they've had on 24???!

Lastly, I absolutely LOVE the dynamic and tension between Edgar and Chloe! That's just fun to watch. :P
