Wow.. really. Brazil AND Argentina knocked out. England is gone on PKs. Just... wow. And then there were four. Germany, Italy, Portugal and France. Who's gonna win it? Oh yeah, and Beckham stepped down as England's captain. |

England hasn't won penalties in a major competition for as far as I remember. So the moment it went to penalties we all knew they were out. France beat Brazil in one of the previous recent competitions so their win here is not too surprising. The Germany Argentina match was a great one to watch and I must say it was great that the Germans won it, they certainly deserved to.
Oh yeah, and Beckham stepped down as England's captain. As for Beckham stepping down, that was entirely expected as he's pasted his peak now and I believe that there are far better possible captains in the squad. Who's going to win it? I'd say Germany. Their play is excellent and they have the advantage of the home crowd. |
