Post subject:  In the market for a new video card

and am looking for good places to find deals. I also wouldn't mind some suggestions on which card to get. When I bought my ATI 9700Pro it was one of the top of the line cards (and therefore pricy) but hope to find something mid-range this time. The games I play don't require top of the line vid cards.

I haven't shopped for a card in so long. What should I be looking for? Is 512MB vs 256MB a huge deal? Who is making the better mid-range cards these days, ATI or nVidia? Info like that would be most helpful.

This also naturally means I will not be in game until I get my new card (turns out the video memory in this one is dying).

I have a radeon 9800 pro 256. It is an excellet card but I always said my next card will be an Nvidea card. Nvidea cards handle doul monitors native and ATI always seems to bug up new games for some reason.

Geforce 7800GS's or similar models are pretty much top of the line using AGP.

I see I can get an ATI Radeon x1300 Pro for $130CDN from a local store. Anyone have experience with this card or know if its decent enough? Looks promising to my unprofessoinal eyes.
