Annoucement of Candidacy
Avian City
It is with great pleasure that I announce the candidacy of Ta'lon Prestok and Ryric Krael (Aka Talon1977 and Dragon Fire) For the esteemed office of President and Vice President of Avian Gamers Network. Both men have long established ties and service records in the Avian Community. Ta'lon has been a member since 2003 and has served on the Board of Directors 5 times. Ryric joined the community in 2001 also having served on the Board of Directors 5 times and as a Department Head. Both members have served Section Six faithfully and spent countless hours, accepting new applicants, passing amendments and discussing policy and helping to consistantly improve the overall community.
The role of the Presidential Office in Avian is one of guidance, originally created to replace the role of the Founders in Avian’s political wing, to balance out the BoD with someone who does not have a role in the direct policy making and accepts only an advisory position.
The principles of "Unity, Loyalty, Honor, and Respect" are still the banner of Avian today. Never before has our network of gamers, or the games we play, been so diverse, with many members not even present in-game in this myriad of worlds. Yet as a community we are still together. We are a strong community, capable of accomplishing much to increase the enjoyment of our members' experiences.
For many of us, the friendships that we have developed in the last several years here will clearly outlast the existence of the worlds where those friendships were first forged.
For the rest of you, who may be newcomers to Avian, and still settling in here to our grand community, I whole-heartedly welcome you. And I sincerely hope that you will find Avian to be what we have dreamed it would be -- A tight-knit community of people from all over the globe that shines above the rest.
Time will tell how long this dream of ours will last, but for now, slumber on dear friends, and enjoy what we have made together.
This message paid for by friends for Ta'lon and Krael '06
