Decent Speed, but latency isn't fabulous. Mind you it's probably a few hops.

i just recently upgraded to Time Warner Cable Roadrunner Residential Premium service. Went from (at least on paper) 4mbps/384kbps to 7mbps/512kbps. I'd like better up speeds for work but I start looking at $99/month for gigabit service up.

Holy crap you guys have connections just as fast as in France ! I still picture the US with a bunch of 56k connections...
Mine from my little campaign village which is quite slow due to my distance to the DSLAM :

Broadband is not quite so fast over here! When I tried it last night, I managed to get a faster download from Washington than London (only marginally though)!

Most urban locations now have fairly reasonably priced high speed connections either fractional T1's, fiber optic to the home (FIOS), etc.

Even in the suburbs to most big cities DSL is available giving I would say a very large percentage of the population access to high speed internet (whether they take advantage or not is another story).

Even in very rural areas if people want high speed they can get it via there satelite dish (obvious downfall being the weather).

That FIOS service I have costs me 34 bucks a month...and is the lowest tier...for like $49 I could get 15Mb download and 7Mb upload...

neat little app. Great UI.
Just connected my wireless so it is good to see it is about at par with a wired setup.

what? you do realize that there are significant areas of the country that aren't serviced by large providers and the small one who do serve them don't have the capital to lay copper or fiber or upgrade their switches to offer high speed right? that their only alternate is DirectWay or something similar?

Just because you live in BFE SC don't think I'm talking about you Talon - Big Guy!

:P

Viperhoa - both your download and upload are fine. It's more than...what 80+ percent of the US population?
