Pretty much the same question as I asked for the PS3 goes for the Wii.

Did anyone get their hands on one? I was excited about getting one, but I've been hearing that the control scheme (wiimote and nunchuck) are distracting and imprecise, the little speaker in the wiimote is crappy and tinny, and the games just aren't much fun with it.

I have to admit that I'm a bit of a graphics whore, but I'm willing to look beyond that if the price is right and gameplay is unique and fun. But for the price point, I did expect the graphics to be a bit better than what they are though... once again, hopefully it's just the newness of the console to the programmers.

I hope all of this doom and gloom that I've been hearing is just launch jitters and bugs. I love the competition of a 3 console market and shudder to think of a Microsoft dominated market.

On the bright side, I hear that the new Zelda game is like 70 hours long, and there were no crazy changes to the the core Ocarina of Time gameplay. (the reviewer was bitching about that, but I'm cool with it. I loved OoT)

I'm beginning to think Madson works for Microsoft :P.

What's the review on the 360?

My brother picked up a Wii on sunday and I am hoping he brings it with him for me to check out when he comes to town for a visit this weekend. Can't wait to see this Zelda in action.

And yes Mads, please post your 360 review, although I already know your thoughts on the big M system.

C'mon Goph, grab a 360 and come game with us...

Or perhaps we should really consider what we talked about before and get that static group thing going Alliance on Twisting Nether. Or maybe we should wait til BC to start that adventure. Perhaps a separate post is in order.

I am all PC now a day.

From just reading about the Wii and comparing it to the competition, it doesn’t look like a winner to me.

I think Nintendo will never recover from the N64 delay. They let Sony in the market during that time. Not to mention that Nintendo’s games were all childish back then.

Well since my last post, I'm happy to say that I've talked to a few people who absolutely LOVE their Wii and have talked me into getting one. As for the graphics issues, to me the argument is similar to the PSP vs. DS. The PSP is prettier, but besides Loco Roco, Lumines, and MGS, I just haven't seen a game that looks all that fun. I like the innovation in gameplay that Nintendo brought about with the DS, and I hope/think that they will do the same thing on their new, poorly named console.

An ex-student of mine works at a Game store and held a Wii and a copy of Zelda:TP for me. I've had it since Friday, and. I'll write up my thoughts once I get a chance.

I've been tempted to pick up the Wii as I continue to sit on the 360 vs PS3 sidelines...

The game innovation and use of the controllers is what is really intriguing me.

My wife and I are considering a Wii as it now sells for only $250 and we are both intrigued by the uniqueness of the system. Also, we love golf but don't have much time or money for it and the Tiger Woods game looks sweet.

Anyone have any updates on how they are liking their Wii? No, not wee-wee, don't care about that!

My brother has a Wii and absolutely loves it for golf games. The little one that comes part of the Wii bundle in Wii Sports was fun, albeit it simple.

He has since gotten another golf game that he played like having a crack addiction. Don't even think it was Tiger Woods. Can't imagine what Tiger would be like. Nothing short of amazing I would think tho.
