I saw X2 mention he finished it and I have as well, and i know we have several others who have read them... so comments and what not

I'll start off by saying I generally like the conclusion of the series, Besides Hedwig she did a very good job of killing off characters but not doing so in a haphazard its the finale people have to die sort of way. Hedwig i feel died simply because it was dramatic and wasn't going to be much use in the storyline....

I'll write more later probably but that was just something off the top of my head

I think it's probably the best book she's written. It's late here though, so I'll add more comments some other time.

I agree. I am a bit of a HP freak - much fun is made at my expense at work for it!
This was an awesome book. The prologue was a very nice thing as well. Neville by far had the best character arch in the series. he was awesome.

so i read the book friday and i have a couple questions cuz I read it kinda fast:

1) How did Draco get the Elder Wand? I thought it was buried with Dumbledore? I lost the thread on how it went from Draco to Snape

Okay I will see if I can make it sound right. When in the previous book ontop of the tower after returning from trying to get the horcrux in the cave Draco disarms Dumbledore in his poor state, thus he becomes the wands owner instead of Snape who AKs Dumbledore shortly after. Draco didnt actually physically get the wand but the wand considered him its owner from then til Harry disarms Draco in which the wand considered Harry its owner.

Does that make better since? It gets a little muddled there

I do really like the fact that she spends the first several books portraying Dumbledore as an "invincible" wizard, and then in this last book we see that he is, in fact, simply human. It make him three-dimensional as a character and I think that's a nice touch.

Correct. Since Dumbledore and Snape had an agreement for Snape to kill him he could not 'take' the wand by force. Malfoy was the last to remove the wand by force making him, unbeknown to him, the owner. The wand was found on the ground and barrier with Dumbledore - no one knew it was the Elder Wand. harry then took Malfoys wand by force thus transferring (both his and the Elder Wand) to Harry.
