Okay I will see if I can make it sound right. When in the previous book ontop of the tower after returning from trying to get the horcrux in the cave Draco disarms Dumbledore in his poor state, thus he becomes the wands owner instead of Snape who AKs Dumbledore shortly after. Draco didnt actually physically get the wand but the wand considered him its owner from then til Harry disarms Draco in which the wand considered Harry its owner.
Does that make better since? It gets a little muddled there
Correct. Since Dumbledore and Snape had an agreement for Snape to kill him he could not 'take' the wand by force. Malfoy was the last to remove the wand by force making him, unbeknown to him, the owner. The wand was found on the ground and barrier with Dumbledore - no one knew it was the Elder Wand. harry then took Malfoys wand by force thus transferring (both his and the Elder Wand) to Harry.
