Not much information, but figured it was worth mentioning

George Lucas said Tuesday he is planning a live-action television series spinoff of the "Star Wars" film franchise. Lucas told The Los Angeles Times he has "just begun work" on the series, which will not include the films' major characters Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader.

"The Skywalkers aren't in it, and it's about minor characters," Lucas told the Times.

Lucas wouldn't reveal details, but joked that the series would be about "the life of robots."

Lucas already has another television series in the works. Lucas Animation has been working for months on the computer-animated "Star Wars: The Clone Wars."

I heard that he was thinking about this a while ago. Seem to recall reading that writers were being hired atm.

As for clone wars, does that mean he is planning on expanding those cartoon shorts that appeared a few years ago? Those were really good.

I believe the styling is a bit different, and they will be half hour episodes. They already have the majority of the episodes completed. They are still trying to find a home for them though. None of the networks want the series currently.

He mentioned this at the last Star Wars Celebration about 3 years ago, so its been "a plan" at least for that long.

Lucas is shooting too high, I guess he doesn't want Sci-Fi or Spike money. Maybe G4...

If you are talking about the animated series all of those networks passed on the show also.
