I like the title: BioWare announces Star Wars MMO - gamers heads explode.
This could be very promising. So much so I refuse to make further comments.

...oh please oh please oh please let this be true!

No worries here. I don't think it's possible for me. Way too much of a MMOs work goes into overhyping it.

This thing could be killer.

Yeah, yeah I know, don't get too hyped yet.

I am just very hopeful of what the Bioware boys and girls can do with such a project. There's hope for our future in a galaxy far, far away yet.

Wow... wow. Decisions, decisions... attend grad school or play a Bioware Star Wars MMO.

The decision should be obvious.

I agree. Grad School will always be there. Don't miss your chance to get into this mmo early.

My fear is with LA, AND EA firmly having there hands in the cookie jar that we will see yet another WoW clone wrapped up in the Star Wars Universe wrapper.

I for one aint getting hyped till I find out more about the game.

Its all about the money for those two, and making money means appealing to the mindless masses.......................

good point, and a valid concern...

I don't mind if it has some similarities to WoW as far as many of the gameplay issues...but I'd like to see a bunch of new implementations and hopefully more than WoW in a different wrapper. Hopefully the graphics engine will be changed as well, not just updated, but physically changed.

Oh, and it would be nice (if they have crafters) to give the crafters some kind of weapons bonus to the using the items they make. ( I mean, most crafters know how to use what they make!).

Being a teacher myself, your quote pisses me off...

Don't want to explain too much, but teacher's teach because they care, not because they can't.

On Attack of the Show on G4 they did a rumor control segment and said it looks like a go.

At lesat if they do it based on KotOR there's a REASON for a zillion Jedi to be running around. 8)

KotOR age? Meh...I'll have a very hard time dredging up excitement for that era. I know the KotOR games were great and well-received but I just couldn't get into them.

Don't be so sensitive. You know he wasn't trying to piss you off.

Everyone loves teachers. Except, of course, students.

Yeah, you need to take it easy. i was feeding off his crafters being able to use their own weapons comment (try to read it again).

Besides parenting has to be one of the toughest jobs there is (with teaching being a close second for all the reasons you already know) and I know I couldn't handle being a teacher.

Don't. It in no way however successful it may be, won't change the fact that the one chance we had to get a GCW era world simulation is lost forever.

Was really in doubt about the rumor but I found this press release.
http://www.lucasartsbioware.com/

Even my brother (who works at LA) didn't think that LA & EA would pair up.

My best guess for release - 1st quarter (March) 2011
