Hey guys,

I'm looking to get a computer game for XMas and want suggestions. So what games are you guys enjoying and/or hearing good things about right now?

Happy Festivus!

Is Assassins Creed out for PC? It looks sweet.

I agree with that.

I asked for Call of Duty 4.

Don't think it is. It is actually a lot better than the reviews it got initially. The reviewers just didn't have fun since it is a slower game and with deadlines, they missed the whole point of the game.

I love the climbing and escaping via rooftops stuff. Very cool.

Story is weak imo but w/e, the assassination attempts are fun.

I'd ask for the Orange Box if you don't have it already.

CoD4 is very good and I'm glad to hear that about AC. The reviews I read savaged it.

I've been jsut dipping my feet into Mass Effect and the water is awesome. I plan on logging at least 40+ hours into the amazingly rich world. I already know I'm going to play though it twice.

I should have mentioned CoD4. Game of the Year imo. Its just that fun.

I can definitely agree with the suggestion of The Orange Box with CoD4 as a close second. IMHO, the many incredible games in TOB simply outweigh any single game out there - TF2, Portal, HL2, Episodes 1 and 2.

Here's another game, called Aquaria, I just came across. Anyone try it? It looks really fun and different.

First impression... Aquaria looks... weird.

Whatever happened to Spore? We have a release date yet?

EDIT: March.
according to this: http://totalspore.com/articles/official ... -official/

Not gonna get my hopes up. That March date could still be bumped. How many times have they bumped the release thus far?

Can't wait for this title tho.

If you're looking for an open-ended RPG like Oblivion, I would suggest "The Witcher"

I haven't played The Witcher. But Oblivion is a good choice if you haven't played it already, is a really solid game that I put over 100 hours into on my 360. It should be on sale by now too.

Oblivion is a hell of a lot better than Morrorwind (less aimless wandering, better quest system, etc..). To be honest though it doesn't really stick out when compared to the other great games that came out this year.

I know it's post-Christmas now, but I thought I'd comment anyway. I read a review of The Witcher the over day. They said that it was nothing particularly special and the combat model was rather frustrating.
