I've been following Warhammer Online ever since I stopped playing wow, and it seems to be progressing very nicely. Warhammer is going to have both PvP and PvE elements that combine into a head-on conflict between the games two warring factions.

Details can be found here: http://www.warhammeronline.com/english/home/index.php

You can sign up for beta here:https://betacenter.eamythic.com/signup.php

It seems to be alot less focused on end-gaming raiding, and alot more focused on brutal PvP and constant conflict, perfect for our casual player base. It also has a nifty guild leveling system, but details on that haven't been released.

If this game lives up to it's expectations I see it being a perfect game to unite avian again. Expected release Q2 2008.

I'm stoked about WAR! It should be tons of fun even though I never did the table-top but I do like the humor of the greenskins. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!

looking forward to it... now if they would only let me into the beta

first: HEY! How the heck are you!

second: I have not read to much about this but I did just see a review of it on G4 TV and they had good things to say.

I also just watch a number of the video podcasts they have on the website. Could be a cool game.

The excitement that exudes (yes, that's right...exudes) from the devs in their podcasts is highly infectious. I've applied to beta so here's hoping.

If it's any good, I may try it...but I'm not much of a WarHammer fan, so we'll have to see.

Oh, and hey Len! stop lurking!

Yeah I'm good, I'll stop being less lurky. Been real busy getting settled into college so I haven't had too much time to game and stuff, but I'm all set now. If you liked the WoW universe your sure to love the warhammer universe. WoW actually stems from warhammer, and WAR seems to have a much better sense of humor.

Looking forward to getting re-involved in avian. =)

No Lizardmen, Skaven, Wood Elves? I piloted a friend's Lizardman army to victory in a campaign back in the day, and played the Wood Elf Wardancer in Warhammer Quest (board-based RPG, like original D&D). I vaguely attempted to start collecting a Dark Elf army, but didn't get much besides the Witch Elf unit and a general on a Cold One. It looks like Witch Elves are available as a player class, I would check that out, but I doubt I'll be able to play anything until I get more powerful graphics, which probably entails a new machine.

Too bad there isn't a Warmachine MMO...I guess it would be tough to allow player warcasters. If anybody knows what I'm talking about...

I was thinking about Warhammer figures last night, the one thing that sticks in my mind is looking at all the painted figures in the Warhammer books. Never played much, but always wanted to paint up the figures.

It appears I app'd for a beta spot a long time ago (my normal email addy was already used). But I app'd again with my alternate one so hopefully one of the two will get me in.

WAR sounds fairly promising and I hope to catch up on more reading about it during my time off work over teh holidays.

You want a real good piece of advice ? DON'T make big plans for this game.
Yes, I sneak my way into betas very well. ;)
Too bad it doesn't result in the game being good. ##### you Raph Koster.
ah, I hadn't cursed him this month, makes me feel good.

I watched all the podcast videos that they had online and while some of it looking interesting not sure if it has enough for me to leave wow for. Willing to beta it or free trial it but thats all for now until I see some of it.

Huge Warhammer fan here. The Universe, IMO, is outstanding. I've not really collected an army but have played the tabletop version some. Very fun.

I've read comments like Slugs quite a bit lately. I'm very fearful that game will massively disappoint.

Aww I'm getting disappointed now. Well I'll just have to cross my fingers for a beta invite so I can try it before I buy it.
