I have quit SoA.
j/k, j/k - did you think I could actually leave this rabble?
Seriously, I have gone and gotten married. After weeks of preparation, the big day came and went yesterday without a hitch. We are both very laid back individuals and kinda just let things happen and didn't stress about most things. Ceremony was beautiful, I lost my breath and nearly teared up when I saw Melanie coming down the aisle. She arrived at the front, almost losing it herself. Vows were exchanged without a hiccup, which I was determined that if I were to not screw one thing up the whole day, I wanted it not to be the vows.
Photos, in one word: amazing. Soooo glad we paid the extra money to use a professional photographer and not a hobbyist. We had him from 9am til 11pm (tho he actually stayed til nearly midnight). He and his wife assisting were amazing. Totally creative angles and shots. During the dinner he actually quickyl photoshoped a few pics to get them into a slideshow to play on a screen during the dance. Many were just incredible. Kudos to you Lloyd.
Dinner was faulous, as were the speeches. Her dad's speech had many in the crowd in tears, and I accomplished my goal in my speech to make the matron of honor cry. Heck, mom said I actually had dad asking for a tissue... Awsome. I am a quiet person by nature, and I love shocking many people who think I am not a good public speaker. Again, awsome.
Dance was fun as hell. With the temperature outside at a balmy -35C, we kept it nice and hot inside. Everyone had a great time and I absolutely loved the venue. An old 1970s log cabin style building, perfect for a winter wedding. Did I mention the temperature? Well, we actually went outside for a couple poses and OMG, best photos of the day. Simply amazing.
Sorry for the long post, but I know the Maelstrom boys would want to read the goings on for the day. To finish, we could not have pictured a better day. I know many may say that just in passing when describing their wedding, but for us it was true. Disneyland it wasn't, but our dreams definitely came true.
Once we receive the digitals from the photographer I will try and post a few here.
