I recently started playng this...

My avatar is "Jax Pavan" on the "Protector" server.
Currently level 7.

Started playing it since a friend asked if I wanted to join. Since it is Free 2 Play I jumped on it...

There are some stuff you have to pay for, but the are non-critical for the game experience. Mostly it is ingame currency, certain classes and outfits or part of outfits... (If you want a cape, you have to pay for it)

Anyone else?

I didn't realize that this was F2P. I played this at launch, actually, and really enjoyed it, but it didn't have enough depth to keep me. Oddly enough, every single time I have seen The Incredibles, I get an intense urge to play this game. I'll definitly download it and give it a whirl while waiting for SWTOR.

Do note, that at F2P mode, you can only have two chars per server. Additional toons require some sort of micropayment, I've been told.

Star Trek Online is F2P aswell... I managed to get 81.7 percent, but then my internet ran out. (We have 15 Gigs a month to use for the fee, additional megs cost ekstra so I've placed a blocking limit).
Champions Online is F2P.

I can find a list of F2P games if people want it... (Could form the basis for a F2P Forum)

My main is Good. (Jax Pavan)

My alt is evil (Tara Tiana)

Both are DPS. A playstyle I have started to like a lot...

However... my internet went down last night... blocked until the month is up...
Can't play until November 1st...

I don't know why, Gui. It may be a good idea to move it, and maybe even start a F2P section of the boards. I know I'm all kinds of interested in F2P, especially Fallen Earth, while we wait for SW:TOR.

Yeah. Now that they're F2P I'm going to take your advice and give it a try.

So, we discussed starting a F2P wing, but that didn't get a ton of traction. Lets see what we can do. Do we just want a Public forum for it, or a full wing?

I don't think we need a full wing. Maybe a public forum. Maybe. We'll see if we can get folk interested first.

Now that explains why I couldn't find this thread...

Just have to mention. Star Trek Onlne, has yet to become Free2Play completely... (Isn't as smooth as one wants it to be). Regardless, I bought a subscription and am trying out the 30 days free. Will come back to it later.

As for having this thread in the graveyard...
I felt it was more appropriate since CoH is pretty old and we used to discuss it, long ago.

Bonus info. CoVillains is appearantly F2P, since you can choose to play a villain from the start.

A buddy of mine, who introduced to the game last has suggested he and I would play Saturdays from 7:00 in the evening 'till we drop from exchaustion. That is 1900 in military slag. (Never got the hang of the AM/PM system)
And that is GTM -3 (Greenlandic/Brasilian time).

FYI, the Graveyard is supposed to be locked, and is just for old threads that no longer belong in the forums. Such as talk about SWG....... ;)

But we are allowed to use SW:G as a base comparison, if WoW doesn't do it's task right...?

Exceptions to a SWG talk-ban? Not sure if that can work. I think it's immediate disassemble if we find somebody talking about SWG......oh, crap! Stay away from me, I was referencing it, not talking about it. Ouch! Stop that!!!

My hero toon is "Wildefire" a sexy female fire-based blaster. My villian toon is "Dark Strumpet," a sexy mastermind.

They are both women, because this game is totally oriented towards making sexy women, and I figured, why not?

If we had more character slots, I would have kept another guy I made. He was all in black, but really tight body armor, with a helmet reminiscent of Iron Man. He had a darker, faded, golden highlights, with a large horse head symbol on his chest, and he carried a massive sword. I named him The Knight Errant. But I didn't keep him. He was pretty cool, but I decided I didn't like the melee combat.

How do I add you as a friend without seeing your toon? I can't figure out how to add you by name, but there must be a way to do it.

I won't be in this weekend. Heading to Denver for a football game and some family friends' birthday party. Sorry.

Ouch....

At any rate... I'm gonna play on that mentioned time every weekend.

Server: Protector
Nick: Jax Pavan

Write in the forums, since one cannot make a /tell or send a mail as a F2P user until lvl. 5 (I think, maybe it was lvl. 4)

Cracks me up everytime I read it... Would love to used it as a signature...

Anyway my main toon is a male mercenary with body armor in green colors and a mask (not a helmet) not unlike that of the mandalorian commandos.
His backstory is that he has been a merc for a long time untill saved by a stranger which made his fight for greater good.

He is a DPS toon.
