Caution: I am bored and this has little real info in it. Just a rambling of an excited player.

Well like everyone else I am chomping at the bit to get inside SWG.
Since the release was announced - something that caught me completely of gaurd- I have been scrambling to catch up on information since I have been gone for many months.

I have been spending lots of time both here and SWG boards reading every drop I can. Yak's guide was a huge help as it had Kebernets guide to crafting and Yak's guide as well along with many other great reads.

I have decided to go for a miner - ranger - pikeman for Moge. I have spent a great deal of time thinking about my Character and who and what I want him to be. I know melee is a bit odd but I really like the idea of a time-worn Zabrak who has the skills to brave the wilds in search of rare items all the while trusting his life to a pike.

The way I figure it. I will not engage in open battle so my staff will be for protection only. It also give me comfort that I can retrain in blasters f I so choose.

I will only get engineering and surveying from the Artisan skill tree. Then master scout then master ranger, pole-arm from brawler and most of Pikeman (all by 4 i think).

My goal is to be a special materials scout. I want to hunt down the rare ingredients needed. To do this I need to have combat skills and high scouting/ranger skills. Because of this I will not be able - from the start - to have a store or merchant skills. I think this will be fine. Same with factories- IF I need one I can buy one from someone else in Avian.

To CE or not to CE:
I also bought the CE. Why? I am not really sure. I guess I was lured into the "I need those glasses" marketing plow. Time will tell if this is really cool or just a bum of 30 bucks.

Time and plenty of it:
The benifit to my line of work - freelance video and theatre- is that I can make my own schedule. The game comes out of Thursday. I have to work Sunday night then have almost 2 weeks off. So I plan to be in-game a TON.

None gamer roomies:
Since the launch date was announced my roomates have gotten an earful everyday about this screenshot, cool eyewear, latest video...oh and did I mention this? Well I am sure they could not give a crap but on I ramble to them about the game.
I am sure they are just as excited about the release as I am as they know I will stop talking about it becuase I will be locked in my room playing it.

Well, that is it. I am done and my fingers hurt. If you made it this far you are either REALLY bored or REALLY excited about this game! Thanks for reading. If you feel like it please add your 'waiting for swg' story as well.

Hey, don't give this guy a hard time about his job - it's got da bennies!

He flashes his card and gets discounts at movies, can get discounts on computers (if they're used for work <grin, grin, nudge, nudge, wink, wink> and can get tons of software titles cheep!

As to your char, Moge, I like those ideas! And you'll always have a buyer in me for any goofy rare bones and hides you find!

Oh...but the bennies couldn't get him into beta! NEENER, NEENER, NEENER! ...couldn't resist! :P

Since we had a little game going with the name of my avatar in the other thread, how about guessing this world premiere I saw in Boston in 1999. It's just me against you and please remember why we are all here.

It's very specific and was definitely in Boston. Check the hint above. Another hint: NOT the movie premiere.

John Williams is my actual guess. Boston Pops Orchestra?
