I've been cursing up a storm here. 2 1/2 hours already and no end in sight.

Yeah... You'd think a company like sony with this much experience in MMO games would know to expect really heavy server load on release. Well, now just saying that, it makes me think that they did know, but perhaps costs were too much to motivate them to do anything about it.

I hardly think Sony intended for everyone to have this much trouble. The truth is that we don't really know what is causing all the problems. They might have prepared greatly for it, but things rarely go exactly as planned, especially on this scale. This is simply the story for release day of MMO's. This is a much larger release than they have done before (even day 1 of EQ didn't have nearly as many people trying to sign on). The best thing is just to be patient, because continuous attempts only clogs things up more. Just do something else for a while (like browse the forums or fansites, read the manual, say your final goodbyes to your friends and relatives...), and try every now and then.

The game will still be there tomorrow. ;)

Yeah, I'll have to take back my comments there b/c their definetly having some crazy server problems. Read Q's post there at www.starwarsgalaxies.com... apparently they are having hardware problems (its not just the heavy traffic).
