If you wish to place a structure near the PA Hall there are some guidelines that must be followed. Please look this over, and be aware of all the restrictions. You willl be asked to move your house at your own expense if you fail to do so.

I see that you say we have to face the houses towards the pa hall. Why not face them outward. What I mean is.

---------------------------
pa hall is here
----------------------------

<house door house door>

Ok left house door faces left towards Kereen, right house door faces opposite of that.
Just a suggestion. Its not that big of a deal to me, but I thought it might look better that way. What you think?

HA, Raezer, you just say things to be opposite, don't you.

Are you happy with anything?

I'm a capitalist pig, so I choose to build on the Right side of the hall! Who's with me? Down with those weirdo tree-huggin' lefties!

It's going to look an awful lot like tract housing with all the doors facing the same way. I know you guys already decided this and it's the way it is, but in my opinion it would have looked better and a little less homogenous if we'd just left the orientation up to the owner.

I just thought people might wanted to see landscape other than their neighbors house when walking out.*shrug*

I think we should just come up with a simple, organized way for everyone to get their houses down as quickly as possible. Once player cities come out, we're probably going to have to come up with a whole new city layout plan and re-deed our houses no matter what we do.

This is what we basically went for, and I couldn't say it much better my self. Thanks Shihao. :)

Unofficially, the left side looks like it is the business zone while the right is for private homes, overall but not entirely(the last time I was online). There is no restriction of any kind at this time, so you can place on either side still. But If you want to go with those themes, maybe you can decide on what type of place your house is going to be before you pick which side to lay it down on and try to group together with others.

For those of you that request changes, your a little late. http://www.swg-avian.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7343. We've had that discussion going for several days now, and this plan has been finalized. Sorry.

I will be purchasing a Medium House in the next few days to use as Phoenix Investigations, Ltd. HQ. Please let me know ASAP where I can place it within Avian City limits. Thanks.

A lot bigger.

They are two stories tall, plus a basement. They are 1 1/2 to 2 times as wide and deep as the smalls.

Turns out Medium Houses take up the same space as small houses. So, we dont need to worry about that problem then. In the meantime don't put up any large houses.

Also, the space behind the Hall is not suitable for factories so we're going to designate that our couryard I guess, Gui-Jan's Structure factory is now in the farthest NorthEast corner of the industrial park. All factories need to go either south or west of it. They also need to be placed parrell and as close as possible to the adjacent factory.

If you have any questions about placement please let me know, and I can meet you at the Hall so we can find you a nice spot.

I'm not sure if my house is in an okay spot right now (I've moved it from what I was told is a bad spot), but if it's not, can someone PLEASE find me a good spot and let me know.

Thanks!

Keep note that because of a few things the above guidelines aren't entirely possible anymore. When placing structures just be aware of how buildings have been placed and go with the trend. Also remember that structures should be placed as efficiently as possible.

A new draft of the guidelines are being worked on now, but until then if you have any questions just look me up. I'll be around to help out.

Quick summary of the placement rules:
  • NO HARVESTERS WITHIN THE AREA
  • All houses must face the Hall
  • The rows on the West side of the Hall extend right up the factories. The amount of rows is as many as we can fill.
  • Factories must be in the designated area being SW of the Hall. They must also be placed in line and right up against the others. Please do not place them past the House that is out there. Head West instead.
  • You may not build directly behind or in front of the Hall.

CITY MAP

If you have ANY question please ask me, Warnel or another member who will know. I advise this because if you improperly place a strucutre you will be asked to move it at your own expense.

I would love to see us evolve into a city with houses and stores separated. I know they are the same structures, but I would love a 100% commerce district one of these days.

Right now I like to see what our Avians are selling, and it would be nice for me.... and non-members if they knew all structures in this area are shops.

Seeing Bobs house makes us think the commerce district has ended.... but in reality there may be a shop 2 or 3 more lots down that get missed.

Anyway this is an idea for our evolution, not a shot at changing anything now.

Yep, I agree Cyrus. Since we've already gotten this place started maybe it would be best to wait till player cities when we may be packing up and moving out.

Hey Rom- You might want to leave in a bit about the way the houses should face, unless that's changed.
